Not that it's a bad thing or anything.

It just seems to me that there are a lot of people coming back to the game, here, in my guild, etc. Is this just purely anecdotal on my part? Anyone rise seeing this too?

Simple: They advertised a BRAND NEW expansion coming.

So now people are all like "gee, I wonder what the game is like now..." esp those who haven't played in 1-2 years.

They probably don't want to wait until the day WoD comes out, because they wanna prepare ahead of time, they wanna get a taste of what WoW is now before they make a commitment to come back or not.

None of my old playing friends has come back so far.

Sad.

We're also in a particularly dry period where MMOs are concerned. Nothing has really come out in a while, and it's a long while until the next big MMO is going to be released.

FFXIV was the last big one, but my experience IN GAME was that a big portion of that population were drawn in by the FF part, not the MMO part. Many had never played WoW, which is nearly unheard of in MMO launches nowadays.

But even the FF launch is far enough away now that it's feasible that your typical MMO player would be getting bored and looking to poke at old games while they figure out where they want to go next.

Personally, there's not much for me until Wildstar... So IF WoW manages to hold my attention, cool. If not, aight.

There's always TOR to fall back on for me.

Blizzard is offering a bundle get everything up to mop for 15 bucks.

It enticed me to come back for sure.

I bought like 4 of them bundles last year... I really should maybe sell them. I was going to multibox but just never did (started tor raid and pvp, there went my "free time").
I'll be coming back soon. FFXIV is fun, but yea i tis starting to get boring.
I'm trying to talk myself into getting to 50 (cap, I'm 45) and finishing the current story. 14's dungeon pairing is not well atm. Getting stuck with a bad group makes me think I'm a bad player, and then I don't play for days/weeks... maybe I am just a bad healer :3
RL friend keeps asking when I'm coming back, so there is always that, being able to play with people you know. I don't really play with anyone in 14 and that can be a drag when I need help.

I did not know that! Ooooh, so for 15 bucks I can have 150 characters instead of a mere 100 . . . I don't have a blonde female human hunter yet. Or a green haired male elven warrior . . . I'm not even going to think about what I'm missing in the warlock department . . .

$15 for WoW? That's... .tempting just for a Recruit-a-Friend mount, lol. But then I think I'd also have to pay at least one month at $15 too so that'd be $30 for a mount.....eh..... still not sure that's worth it, now that I think about it.

Turns out its two months, so that'd be like $45. ouch. I'd get 1 free month so that's $15 value... so yeah, $30. Assuming the recruited friend would have to buy WoW + game time.

No need to buy MOP if you just want the mount. I just bought the $5 core game, so the mount is only costing me $20

I just re-subbed after being out since about Jan-Feb.

Didn't even know there was a new xpac coming out. Stopped playing due to being really bored with it. Started back up due to being really bored period. Been back a couple days now and all seems pretty much as it was when I left. I see there are a couple new islands of stuff off Pandaria - Did the "Timeless" questline . .not sure I get the point but seemed neat I guess.

My problem is - and this isn't the game's fault really - I have 3 90's and about 12 85+ with probably another 20 or so over 40. I'm sure most the newer stuff is grindy/daily rep stuff to get raid geared. I'm not really interested in raiding again so I just end up leveling more toons.

Plus, since they came out with transmog, I feel I must keep absolutely everything that I find anywhere to either sell or "do something with someday" so none of my toons have any bagspace.

I keep trying to just "pick a toon" to use but every time I go to log in I pick a different one >< Ah well, going to go . . .do something in wow.

I hadn't played in about a awhile and resubscribed to see how things were going. Biggest reason I came back is its getting dark earlier and its cold so im not doing outside stuff.
