During the Patch 5.2 PTR, players noticed that Burning Seed had been datamined, which would allow players to "harness the essence of Fire granted to the Druids of the Flame." The buff given, Burning Essence, explicitly stated that players turn into a Druid of the Flame while in Cat Form. This sounded exactly like the fire kitty effect granted by Fandral's Flamescythe, except you didn't need to farm up the staff. What was the catch?

Well, nobody knew how to get them, which has led to a heated discussion if this item ever made it to live servers. Earlier today, Community Manager Crithto made a post that Burning Seeds were in fact available in game, but very well hidden--nobody had reported finding them since Patch 5.2 went live over a month ago.

These seeds are available from the portal by Majordomo Staghelm in Firelands. They look like tiny Amberseeds anyone can see, but only Druids can loot them. Druids can loot up to five at a time, and it appears five spawn at a time.

If you ever wanted to get your druid's cat form to look like the flaming cats in Firelands, now you can do so even without the Flamescythe! Just thought this was kinda neat; always spiffy to discover new, previously unsolved mysteries Smiley: grin

I totally thought you meant Cinder Kitten.
It'd be awesome watching a tank taking down a boss as Cinder.

Fire Cat is all fine and dandy, but what about armor for my Bear?! Smiley: mad

Oh, well, maybe in another patch I'll get the glyph.

We dragged my Druid in for the Staghelm fight last Saturday (no staff yet again) and I made a point to look for the Fire Seeds. Even knowing they were there and roughly where they were, they were still really hard to find. They are extremely tiny and hard to see. I gathered up my 5 though I haven't tried them out yet. Too bad my Druid isn't a kitty Druid.
