So basically any kind of anti-troll racism is thoroughly justified at this point.

Them damn trolls,always zombieing things!

If one didn't know, when they [blizzard] had to figure out a way to write Pandaria into lore w/o breaking it too much...back in the day the Trolls sided with the Mogu.

Seriously. The undead get a lot of flak for doing evil stuff, but trolls seem to go bad.

Pretty good trailer!

This is literally the first time I have EVER seen someone say this, and I've been playing online games for over a decade.

Did I really get in before "not another troll raid." Smiley: confused

You people are slacking. Smiley: disappointed

But yes, nice trailer and I'm actually kind of curious how this all gets tied together in the end. Some odd spins on the lore perhaps?

Rise of da Dunder King.

I'm sad to see that the Zandalari are brought back - again. The voodoo and animal spirits theme is getting old; I wish they'd go back to the Burning Legion storyline. Metzen is going for a return of Illidan at some point, so why not now? Anything is better than the damn animal gods again. Like farming ZA/ZG for half a year wasn't traumatizing enough, if I have to run around in armor made out of painted pieces of wood and feathers again, I'm going to scream.

It's a matter of principle! ZA/ZG left ugly scars across my soul.

I guess you haven't encountered very many people who enjoy change. I do. Each patch usually, imo, improves the game and in turn my enjoyment of it.

This is literally the first time I have ever seen someone say that each patch generally improves the game. I'm used to each patch making me slightly more and more confused.

I can usually pull some good and bad out of most patches, yay for pragmatism! Smiley: yippee

Tier 9 needs to have never happened though.

Filler content is always a terrible idea. I mean, I guess the alternative was waiting a lot longer for ICC, but it still just wasn't fun.

It would have been fine if it wasn't blatantly stupid. But no. There's no frickin' way that you're setting up a Tourney on the doorstep of Icecrown Citadel. It's ridiculous. I get why it was moved there from Crystalsong from a technical perspective, but it's still among the stupidest things ever implemented into WoW.

And making it so that you had to use the stupid laggy-as-hell mounted combat just made it all worse.

That design energy could have gone into making a Scarlet Onslaught raid, which would have at least made sense. Why they decided to tell that whole story through quests if they were starved for endgame content, I have no clue. I'm a big proponent of the story telling happening outside of raids, but not at the expense of them using their design time to implement something nobody wants.

Mounted combat was/is really bad in World of Warcraft, and I just can't wrap my head around how they managed to @#%^ it up. Of all the MMORPG's I've played, WoW has always been the most polished. The movement and combat in WoW is unrivaled, not because of special effects or physics or anything, but because there's no ability lag and movement is fluid and responsive.

The mounted combat feels nothing like that. From the tourney in Icecrown to the lancing in Mount Hyjal, moving and fighting on mounts is just clunky as all hell. I don't get why. Did they beat the developer who did combat animations retarded somewhere between release of Vanilla and Wrath of the Lich King? It's disgusting.

I hate the part in Mount Hyjal where you have to jump around in the air on a hippogryph with a lance, trying to stab enemies that can actually fly. So bad. And I know it's a homage to some ancient video game - before physics and 3D environments were invented - but it's crap! And you HAVE to do it to get to the next part of the quest chain, so you can't just skip it. And the reward? A choice between two pets that are shared account-wide now. Run that quest twice and there's zero reason (besides xp) to run it again, but you have to, or you won't be able to finish the zone.

Horrible design.

I've never completed the Argent Tournament stuff on any character. I never got any farther than whatever the first lancey-jousty quest they gave you was. Hate. I am hopeful for never again.

Thankfully you have to endure the jousting-stuff only for so long. When you reach a certain point you can just grind the missing Seals with other Dailies while ignoring the jousting quests. I would not have been able to finish it if that wasn't the case.

I still did jousting most days. It was annoying, but just mindless once you got used to it. I could clear the champions without paying much attention at all. Gave me my seals and was one of the best dailies for farming gold. Quest NPC is right next to the actual quest content, so...

Still, I can't say I was having fun. But I can't say I was ever really having fun doing dailies. I really hope Elder Scrolls Online learns to use the radiant quest system from Skyrim. The objectives might not vary a lot, but at least the actual gameplay would change day to day.

Yes! I avoided the tournament grounds as best I could. I know others like those quests, but I did not.

Wait, there are people who LIKED those? Smiley: jawdrop

I just figured there were people who tolerated them...
