Logged in this morning for my holiday quest and found out that my guild (level 25) had moved servers ... never once was there a mention of this in the guild info or comments made in chat. They posted it on facebook and I check it about as often as I get a haircut (been since Christmas, dont judge me).

Im on Nathrezim and its either low population or low activity so more than likely there are few if any level 25 guilds left on the server, there is little recruiting happening in general or any other chat channel any more.

How hard is it to level a guild? Only reallly doing this for the perks, don't want to raid besides LFR and not huge on rated PVP either.

My wife has a level 1 guild that she used for tinkering that I could move all of my characters into and slowly work on leveling the guild, is this really even possible or do you need quite a few people to level a guild?

I think I recall an earlier discussion about this and it seemed to be fairly easy ... if you can get members. On our servers, it seems to be fairly common to see "leveling guilds" with a decent number of folks and the guild at level 25. I would guess that your biggest problems will be getting new members in and keeping them into higher levels where they'll help advance the guild more quickly. That will depend a good deal on your server.

IF you just want a guild for the perks I would just hold out and find one recruiting. You can browse guilds with your guild button if your guildless. Even my low population server has dozens of lvl 25 guilds that basically don't do anything but offer perks to players. IF nothing else ask a few times in trade if any lvl 25 guilds are recruiting. Heck usually when I roll a new toon I get ninja invited to a lvl 25 guild before I can even get into a major city.

Having one's own personal guild is very nice for the guildbank, lol.

Anyways, every single quest that is green+ yields 60,000 guild experience no matter what level you are ever since 5.0.

According to wiki, it says you need to do roughly 14,100 quests to get a guild from 1 to Level 25.

If you do roughly 20 quests a day (Fedex/'go talk to this person' quests work too! As long as it is Green+), it will take roughly 705 days to get a guild to 25 solo.

But I imagine a lot of days you could do a lot more than 20 quests in one day.

Edit: For reference, when the Pre-MoP patch went live, mom and I had two guilds on (I think?) Level 15. Something like that.

We got Guild Level 25 about a month after MoP went live. On two guilds.

But then I did do a bit of a leveling frenzy when MoP first went live, Too.

I must have been looking at an old wiki page, because it said quest xp/4.

But I was goofing around on a level 25 priest last night and I raised the guild xp by 2% by completing a few quest, so it is pretty easy.

I raised the guild xp by 15% without even really trying last night so it is something I will continue doing :)

Thanks for the info!

I can't be the only one who keeps getting this stuck in their heads every time they read the title, can I?

Im really surprised they didn't raise the max level of guilds with last expansion. They could have raised it to 30 and one of the rewards could have been those BOA leggings. Wouldn't be hard to come up with some new minor rewards for 5 levels.

I hate to admit it, but every time I see the thread title, I think of the Cinderella song from the late 80s.

It's painful, too, since I can't stand the band and don't like the song. I wish I had Counting Crows or the Rolling Stones in my head, but nope...it's Cinderella.

p.s. Just to really derail this...what's with all the images from other 60s bands in that Stones video? The Kinks, the Who, the Monkees, the Beetles? What am I missing?

With just a couple of you, it may take a very long time. It depends of course on your level and activity, however. The first few ranks aren't too difficult, but after that it can become a real painful grind.

If you can get other members, however, it can be a breeze. Especially if they are very active.

They had originally made it so it would increase to 30. It was like that for over a month on the beta. They decided to change it later saying it wouldn't be fair for new guilds just starting out to now have to reach another tier (26-30) and that there was little benefit to guilds in adding more levels in the first place. In all honesty, their rewards for 27 and 30 weren't anything special.

If you find out let me know. I think the guy wanted to make a nostalgia thing, then couldn't climb back out of the rabbit hole. It was the first video one the list, so it got linked. Smiley: lol

Also, speaking of guilds, this whole not logging in for a week and getting kicked thing. It's funny when you get the spammed re-invite and re-join like nothing every happened. Smiley: rolleyes

I'm finding this out, while it is relatively easy to level it is challenging. My wife doesn't play much and doesnt want to invite other people ... she's grumpy.

In 4 days we raised it about 1 level, so it pretty much falls onto me to raise it with dailies or quest on my other characters, so it will take a long while.

If the info about guild exp is accurate then all you need to do is make a few new toons, join them at level 1, and raise them to 10 on quests, rinse and repeat. It will take an hour or so per toon and run you through over a hundred easy quests.

I dual-box, and just for fun decided to see how much guild exp new toons contribute in their first few levels.

I created two Blood Elf characters, and did the whole starter zone, which gets you to around level 6?

On two characters, that was a total of around 1.4 million guild exp. It takes about 20 minutes to get through that short area, maybe less. I ended up doing this for an hour a day for a week... the guild went up 3 levels.

With only myself, and two friends, my guild easily reached level 25 a few months ago.
