I'm just posting this for you guys. I cancelled my subs to WoW and SW:TOR and I'm not setting goals for any of my console games. If anybody wants to take over posting the Weekend threads, have at it. If they aren't posted by GMT -6 on Friday and Monday, I'll post one.

I'll fill in again. You'll be back; for now I'm on a two month break.

WOW: As noted in the gearing thread, I'm trying to get my first round of 90s fleshed out. The Hunter is closest to Revered with the Order of the Cloud Serpent, my Shadow Priest is covering the Golden Lotus grind since she gets the Human rep bonus, and Pandamonium (the Monk) follows in their wake.

RL: Pink has her usual time claimed. We may do a bit of shopping Sunday, January 4 is somehow a date that symbolizes "I'll love you forever" because of the numbers and Pink is really excited about it.

WoW - Well, I was going to have my goal be to get my pally LFR ready over the weekend. But, I did that on Wednesday, with the help of a couple guildies. Spent some cash and got the Living Steel chest and gloves made and got a temporary cloak to hold in my bags to push me over 460. So, a group of us ran LFR. It was my first time in the raid. Yes, yes I am behind the curve, as a matter of fact. Got no drops, but saw all six bosses in MV. LFR is easier than easy. I think you'd have to try to die. I'm looking forward to seeing the normal raid with my guild. Hopefully, it's much more of a challenge than LFR.

Anyway, goals...um, well, I guess I better work on reputations. I'll have to do a little research to figure out how to get Golden Lotus going. I think I've opened up the Klaxxi. And, I'll keep going on Tillers. In between, I want to run as many heroics as I can fit in. I'm not sure there's much gear I can get from them, but it will be good practice for my healing. I'm sure there are probably a couple 463s I can use, just a matter of luck of the draw. Oh, and I want to run some scenarios. I still haven't done any of those yet. I'll try to grab a couple guildies and get a feel for them without the pressure of a PuG.

Finally, I want to do some farming. A guildie gave me the 13 lightsteel bars for the chest and gloves. He said don't worry about it, but I want to repay him. So, I've been farming mats and transmuting to pay him back. Also, I'll try to work in some herbing, with the intent of milling them and making some darkmoon cards.

And really finally, if I have time I'll work on picking up some more pets. I'm at 354. 400 is the goal, but in the short run, I guess I'll try for 375 this weekend.

Damn, that's a lot of goals...hope I have the time to really work on them. But, I may cheat and take a long weekend for New Years :-).

RL - Not much. I'm hoping for a nice chill weekend to unwind from the holiday.

Have a good weekend everyone.

-Woke up on Christmas, ready to pound out most of my jobs in FF5. Go to load up my game... BROKEN. Smiley: mad
-Pop in FF6 and get to the final boss with Locke's infiltration of a town. Decide to step away from the game a bit and grab a bite to eat. Come back, load up my game... BROKEN. Smiley: mad

-Since then I have been hoping from game to game, still irritated that I lost over 30 hours of gameplay on FF5 and unable to save in FF6. Ended up working on KotOR. Not as enjoyable as FF6 but still a good game. Also I just rescued the jedi (what's her face) to give you a frame of reference on how far in I am.

Batteries do eventually get weak and start dying, unfortunately. You can try opening up the cart with a special type of bit (do some searches on the internet, they're fairly cheap), but unless you have some soldiering skills, this probably won't help you very much because they are usually attached to the circuitry. They use CR2032 batteries (all of the ones I've opened use these), though which are very common and easy to find at any Wal*mart or similar store.

That is why, these days, it is probably best that you hang onto the cartridges, but use emulated versions. They are not *technically* legal, but it is fairly unlikely you'd ever get caught, and surely if you own the actual cartridge and explain that since the battery has died and that those batteries are soldiered onto the circuitry in most cases, you're only using the ROM for that reason.

As for accuracy, well, BSnes boasts a 99.9% accuracy to the real thing and from what I've seen, it has been true to its word, though sadly things look heavily pixellated on a digital computer monitor though some people like that look. The only bad thing is that it requires a fairly strong computer to pull it off. For a controller, try a PS2->USB adapter; PS2 controllers make excellent SNES controller substitutes.

Anyways, my own weekend goals:

WoW: I'm hoping to get at least one of my various 88s to 90, and/or get my 82 Monk to 85. I'll continue doing dailies, dunno if I'll reach any milestones or not, haven't really done any calculating or anything of that sort. I'm thinking by Sun/Mon, I ought to be at least halfway to Exalted with August Celestials with my Tailor; I've almost enough cloth to make 6-7 bags. lol.

RL: Got Sat off, work Sun... hope to get some WoW stuff done.

Edit: Also, SNES cartridges were infamous for wiping the contents of their battery-powered RAM if the console is turned on and the pins in the cartridge are not making full contact (the blank screen, and/or random colors on screen). So even if you did replace the battery, chances are you'd lose your saves the next time you turned on the console and got a blank screen anyways.

Not precisely planning anything. Dailies ofc, and I'd like to work on my SPriest's profs herbing/inscrip, but I'm not sure exactly when.
It's the last 4 days of my time off and there's snow out there to be shoveled and stuffed down my gf's neck. (She squeals so well.) I will pay a price for that one tho.
