The bulk of the mantid army is ground forces. The ones that can fly over the wall are just a small fraction of the total army. Besides wouldn't you want a wall up to at least slow them down rather than have nothing up?

Yeah that's true. Maybe I'm putting too much thought into it. It just seems like even with a wall they'd be able to simply climb over it, or just go around (which is how I got into dread wastes for the first time anyways....)

-shrug- I am sure there is a good reason why they don't just go around. Going to spoiler the rest since it involves some major lore drops you get at exalted with Klaxxi. They throw themselves at the wall so that the strongest are the only ones to come back and pass on their genes. Essentially each new swarm is stronger than the last. One could argue that, while defeating the Pandaren would be a nice goal, the main goal of the swarm is to just weed out the weak in their population.

You learn some of that even before Exalted, you just gotta use some common sense.

You have to take their personalities into account, and then some tidbits (they mention that freshly 'born' mantids are mindless until they survive a swarm at the very beginning) about it and then put 2 + 2 together to realize what you said in your spoiler (I figured it was something like that and I haven't gotten Exalted with them yet).

If they REALLY wanted to, they could have their swarm travel WAY around the wall quite easily and then kill everything on the continent.

Its just that their current queen has.... issues.

I just dinged my Shaman lvl 90 on Thursday night, I leveled as Elemental. It felt like I had to heal a lot more than leveling as a Ret Paladin, however I enjoyed the class more than Ret (which I despise). I felt like I had more tools to deal with crazy bosses or high HP mobs. I even managed to solo a 3+mill health elite rare at lvl 89. Between totems, heals, and ascendance I really enjoyed it though like you said originally it felt like I was taking more damage than my paladin.

I am a nerd and have all WoW soundtracks for each expansion on my Ipod, so I enjoy the music. When I raid I have sound @ 10% because a number of abilities have boss call outs & I have found that sound queues really help for me (I even have Holy Shock a sound notifiter so I am spamming it). When I level, quest or I am just puttering around I usually have Itunes or Netflix going.

As for FFVIII, it was a subpar story with an emo main character. Which pretty much set the tone for the series going forward. FFX felt like it was the last good Final Fantasy game. Of course I am a little to old for it now, and of course playing FFIV when I was 10 years old (a horrifying 21 years ago) is going to mean that it is going to be awesome on nostalgia alone.

I don't want to comment on any WoW scene since I'm rather drunk. But for the various FF scenes that are/seem ridicolous. If FF6/FF7 and the following pieces had full voiceover they would have plenty of scenes which would appear ridicoulous. Thankfully they only started with this with part 10. I would really like to play part 13 without voiceover. I bet it would be a rather different game.

Eh, well.

I posted that quite awhile ago, yeah.

And yes yes, I know I made a stupid little mistake of not checking all of the glyphs.

Usually, glyphs aren't near-required for leveling (I was having trouble with Alliance shaman, not Horde -- Alliance Quests are a lot harder because of those packs of mobs everywhere in that glade outside Paw'don; the Horde starter quests are significantly easier).

But I stopped posting in that thread because of all of the name-calling, trolling, etc that comes with o-boards. Once I saw that tidbit suggesting the use of Healing Storm (I tried it and it does wonders), I stopped keeping track of the thread.

I'm kinda curious tho, why do you ask?

I was on the o-boards looking for a starting point on the elemental pve discussion, & I saw that thread. I actually was unaware that it was you and linked it as a joke. Trying to get the thread back on track.

Well since this is the Idle, bored thought thread i had a random thought was thinking about how great the Shadowrun game was on Genesis. and how that game had to have inspired the movie the Matrix. at least on some level....maybe not the game so much as the Shadowrun universe
