I could use more friends on World of Warcraft and oovooFollow

I could use more friends on world of warcraft and oovoo, who don't mind creating a character on the Black Dragonflight server or the Doomhammer server, I could use more friends. If you could create a oovoo account so I can voice call while playing wow, my oovoo e-mail is mflorida21@ymail.com, I'm very slow at typing and I already have two friends on oovoo and wow, but I could use a few more or a lot more, we can level up together and protect each other from the opposite faction, we can also stay alive longer by staying in a group on wow and use oovoo voice chat to talk about wow and get to know each other as gamers on wow, I could use more friends, kind of lonely on wow especially when my friends are not online, if you don't mind joining my on either Black Dragonflight server or the Doomhammer Server. Just hit my character Lankane on the Doomhammer server using the in-game mailbox with a message saying I read your message on the zam forums or even hit up my second character Palabolt on the Black Dragonflight server also using the in-game mailbox with a message saying I read your message on the zam forums. Also search for me on oovoo after downloading and installing oovoo, my e-mail for oovoo is mflorida21@ymail.com and add me as a friend and we can get to start playing together, its a whole lot faster to quest in a group because you get the quests done faster with extra help and we can get to know each other as wow gamers, I'm not the kind of person that doesn't help someone, we will have each other's back just in case the opposite faction tries to attack us.

I had no idea what an oovoo was, so I googled it. My reaction was something like this:

(yes, it is safe for work)

Oovoo is a voice chat software almost similar to skype. Don't use skype because it slows my friend's internet connection speeds and cuts them from the skype call, I use oovoo.

Just one question. Why do you need a chat program that also uses a webcam?

If skype is the only software you prefer to use because you don't like oovoo, I'll voice chat on skype too because my internet connection is not slow and I can use oovoo and skype at the same time to talk.

I don't use my webcam, I use the voice chat feature on skype but oovoo, once you connect to the call, you have to toggle off the webcam button but you can start a voice chat in skype without turning off your webcam, just click voice chat on your friend's name.

Anyone uses Skype, I can use skype and oovoo at the same time so its just my friend's internet connections are slow, I can place a call on skype and oovoo, but my friends can only run one voice chat software at once.

My, how the word "Friend" has changed, eh?

I remember when a "Friend" was someone with whom you were well-acquainted, someone who you enjoyed doing things with, talking with, etc. Someone who you trusted.

Fast-forward to now, "Friend" seems to mean "Random Joe/Jill you add to a list to maybe talk to when you see them online" or some-such. A "Friend List" is a list of people you try to accrue hoping that you can call on them anytime you need something.

Or something like that.

I attribute this to the social network age.

If only Facebook, etc would have used the term "Acquaintances" instead of "Friends"...

Oh wait, a large portion of the people would never spell that correctly, lol.

I always thought the same thing. Some other term should have been used, though then I'm sure people would not have latched on as well as they did.

WoW is no different; I have several "friends" lists populated by people I don't necessarily know or like, or just random schmoes I happened to run a dungeon with once 3 years ago.

"Contacts" or something would be more appropriate but, again, I think a large part of why these various networks are so successful is because people *do* get this false sense that they actually have friends. Because the internet says so.

Then you get random strangers handing out all their personal contact info on public forums looking for friends.
