I’m currently a graduate student at the University at Buffalo in New York. I’m looking for participants for my Master’s thesis project to understand how and why people create avatars in the online virtual worlds such as WoW.
The online survey takes about 10 minutes. By completing the questionnaire, you will be eligible to enter a random drawing of five $25 gift cards from Amazon.com. You need to be at least 18 years old and have created at least one avatar for yourself in the online virtual world to participate in this study. This study has been approved by the Institutional Review Board at the University at Buffalo. If you have any questions, please contact me at hsinlin@buffalo.edu

Sounded vaguely interesting, so I took it. However, on the page where it says to leave an email address, I didn't see anywhere to enter said address.

The last survey guy to come along as offer something as a reward disappeared when it came time to cough up the reward (or at least let us know someone won). So I will pass on this. Fool me once shame on me, fool me twice shame on the mods for letting you guys post.

Thanks for your time to taking the survey, and reminder...Yes, I forgot to place a question for email address...(now it works).
For those who already responded the survey, you can either email me to let me know or send me a private message. :)
To Criminy, I understand what you concern about. I'll soon notify someone if he/she win the gift card in two weeks after the survey closed. The closed time depends on the number of participants I have recruited (I expect to get 200 or more...). Contact information will be kept strictly confidential and separate from your answers. If you guys want to know who are the winners, I will ask them if they are willing to make their IDs public.

It is not a case of wanting to know who exactly won it was more of a case to know that someone won. The last survey person came along kept remind us of game time. Two weeks before the survey ended he disappeared and was never heard from again. So you will have to excuse me when I choose not to believe you.
