Ready for MoP, Are you?Follow

So since coming back to the game end of July I've been doing menial stuff and simply having fun. I've leveled some alts, done a bit of LFR and joined a real guild where alas I am a social due to me being unable to properly raid for real world rankings like they are. Regardless, will be fun raiding on alt/social raids with them, as I've known a couple of them for literally years.

Now, close to MoP I'm ready for launch. My main has a few stacks of buff food, flasks, speed potions, health potions and swimming potions. I'm glyphed and I have my bags empty save for the necessary stuff. I've changed a few macros and done a few leveling-specific binds ...

I'm ready to level my main again. Are you?

Is my dwarf wearing her bow instead of her weapon? Yep
Bank kinda cleaned up? Yep
Bags also? Yep

Good to go. Smiley: wink

Pretty much ready. There were a few things I would have liked to have done (make glyphs for all of my characters) but such things could be done later.

I'm more in the mindset of "what to do first, I wonder?"

I already know I plan on leveling two new characters: an Alliance and a Horde Pandaren Monk and of course there's the question of which of my characters am I going to take into Jade Forest first.

Neither one of my blacksmiths are my "mains", but yet they are obvious choices because they can make weapons -- a crafted weapon lets you kill crap a lot more smoothly than the 365s and 378s that my characters are using now, but yet the weapons all take Spirits of Harmony and it'd take some leveling before I could actually craft them. Though I'll admit along the way I can also make some plate armor for my plate classes.

My Alliance main is an Enchanter/Miner, so that's no big loss if she wasn't leveled on Day One, and on the Horde, my main is a Tailor/Miner. I might do my Blacksmiths first now that I think about it. Both of them have mining as their other profession, so I can easily mine up the MoP ore while leveling (if I even see any of it due to the zone being so crowded first few days).

Hopefully I get lucky with the Spirits drops that I can craft a few weapons by the time I learn how.

Hell no!!! My re-roll DK on the server with Theo and Noc is only level 77 as of now and I have to work tomorrow. I should have taken tomorrow off to try and get to 85, but I have to have surgery soon so saving time for that is more important.

Oh well, I'll be a little behind the curve going through the MoP areas, but maybe by then they will have cleared out a little bit.

I finally got around to clearing out my bank today in preparation for MoP. Made over 1000g vendoring stuff and freed up 66 bank slots. For some unknown reason I had 2 full sets of 378 gear in there and at least 10 trinkets, including some from Wrath. Hi, my name is Tellaria and I am a hoarder.

I've got a bunch of Monk glyphs premade and ready to take advantage of people rolling monks and just buying glyphs from the AH. I'll be leveling my main first and still have to find a guildie willing to sell me all their herbs and ore so I can level my professions (I hate farming and my main has two crafting profs and lots of gold.)

I also do have some monk glyphs waiting for the monk invasion, hope no-one else has thought about this cunning plan.

As for the hoarder bit, I can only sympathize with you. I'm specially bad on alts, to the point that I almost refuse to even look up what they have in their bank. The utter crap I find there is bewildering at times ... My main's bank looks a bit better, lots of tabards, some old items for Xmorg and a few random items for no real reason. However since I didn't have a dedicated bank-alt until 3.1 or so I just grew used to being economical on use of space. Finally, buying the Traveler's Mammoth was the best decision I've made in Cata. That thing pays for itself pretty quickly as you stop throwing stuff away as bags get full. Traveler's + Grundig (Tournament pet which can do mailbox/bank access) = pure win.

I've been debating which dailies to leave unturned for launch and after a bit of though I've decided for TB and Twilight Highlands + Cooking + Fishing, that's about 18 or so of them. I'm still doing MF dailies for the pet, and frankly I want to be done with them, I'd love to get the pet today before going into MoP (one thing less to carry-on on my to-do list to MoP) ...

Not even close. Think I have a job for this evening. Need to spec my new main and clear out bank and bag space. I'm not fussed about leveling as quickly as possible, but it would be nice to be able to focus on questing rather than trying to shuffle my bags around and jamming up my AH alts mail box.

Another "getting ready" thing that I never thought of until I was forced to: I turned on my computer this morning to discover my mouse wasn't working. It's wireless and the battery had died, so now I've got a fresh one and won't have to worry about it while in the middle of leveling. Not something crucial, but I never seem to have batteries nearby and the silly thing always picks a bad time to die, like in the middle of tanking an instance.

Wired mice ftw.

Never have to worry about batteries, ever.

But then I suppose it helps that I always play on desktop computers with huge comfy office chairs, lol.

Hybrid mice ftw. When they run low on battery you just plug in the cord and let it recharge while you use it. Then it's wireless freedom for another 20 hours.

Edit: Wait a minute! This isn't the thread about mice. Smiley: frown

I uh, have level 85 characters, so I guess I'm ready. What else would I do to get ready? I always roll with empty bags (apart from fishing gear and some consumables like bandages and food, not that I use them anymore).

Dangit, I forgot to strip my Druid naked. Ever since TBC, that's been a thing. I enter a new expansion butt naked.

Of course, it worked better with TBC because of the portal. In Wrath it was just a long awkward trip on a boat with about 40 others. Same in Cataclysm (damn Vashj'ir). I guess this time it'll be a zeppelin ride naked or something. Smiley: dubious

Once I decide to buy the expansion, of course. "But Maz, you said you weren't going to buy it!" Yes, but no one ever really quits this game. I'll be back, eventually.

So do I. I just prefer wireless mice. And really, I've had this mouse for a little over a year and that's the first time I've changed the battery. My Microsoft mice used to die every 4 months or so and they required 2 batteries, this one only 1. But anyway, like Maz said, this isn't the mouse thread.

Good luck everyone. Sigh, looks like we'll be delayed enough to completely foul up Brew Fest, leaving us stuck for another year to get the new round of goodies ... again. Smiley: disappointed

This is the first time I just ordered the pre-order digital download. I usually like to just have the box version but I gave in the the digital downloads for this one. I don't think I can take another session of being treated like a child standing outside of gamestop at midnight to pick it up.

I would have liked to max my JP out on my Druid but just didn't get around to it. Ashame have to wait up till like 3am here on the east coast to play it.

Reminds me of Wrath launch. People would pop all their big AOE spells on the boat just before the loading screen and half the people on the boat would lag out and fall through the boat into the water upon arriving in Northrend.

People are total douches online, it's amazing.

Nope. not at all.

I've been playing low levels since the guild disintegrated (and SW:TOR died) and enjoying it. I do now have a level 3 panda to join the crew.

As for which of the 85s to level up first I've not even thought about it. Probably the Protadin as they are still hugely survivable even in rubbish gear but I might change my mind yet. I guess they all need doing to keep the Class Act achievement.

So far it is a bit more laggy but all good.

Well it's official, the Alliance starting quests suck horribly compared to the Horde. Smiley: mad

I got in a few hours before work. A couple of Guildies and I did some questing and an LFG dungeon run and I got a blue 410 Off Hand and Belt. Then Blizzard hit me with Nerf all Reason, and I picked up a sweet new ride (Reins of the Grand Expedition Yak). The challenge was to figure out how to get to the vendor with all the Walls and Mountains in the way (I couldn't seem to find the right road). I finally just drowned myself after discovering the proper zone next to a cliff. All in all, a very fun morning.

They only sucked because of a glitch (that has been fixed) and overcrowding.

I just did the Alliance starter quests this morning and I saw nothing wrong with them. In fact, I enjoyed them more than the Horde equivalents.

The only thing that got me pissed was every time I saw a ghost iron node, some idiot was there picking it before I could get to it every stinking time just about.

Smiley: laugh I had just the opposite reaction to the intro to both sides. It just felt so... meh. -shrug- Not like we are ever going to have that problem again with the starting quests.

On a side note I am swimming in Ghost Iron. I am to the point where I am just skipping over it because my bank and bags are completely full. Been waiting to get two of those blue crafting things (the stuff that drops off mobs) before I start working on my engineering.

I said it from second one that Spirits of Harmony were going to suck and suck hard, and so far I seem to be proven right.

75% of the way through Jade Forest and I have only 9 motes. It takes 20 to make one level 85 weapon. My blacksmith's 86 and a third towards 87 with ~580 Blacksmithing and he knows all the recipes the Org trainer will teach. He's got 2 yellow armor recipes left and the rest are all green except for the weapons which give 5 skill per.

So.... what, 600 blacksmithing is impossible without those rare *** Spirits?
