Ok, so I re-installed WoW and have decided to play again. I've decided I'm gonna start all over, mainly cause I hate the races of most of my characters and I'm not even considering paying for recustomization. I'm also looking for some peeps to play with.

Anybody wanna invite me to come play on their server with them? North American server only, please.

I would seriously love to play with you, but I wouldn't even begin to know how to get onto a chinese server.

Although it is possible (the guys over at Coweaters have good guides), I'd imagine the lag and time zone problems for you would be and annoying as attempts to play on US servers are for me.

Which races are that you hate? Horde or Alliance? I'm curious, nothing more, as I play on EU servers.

This last expansion, Cata, began to me with me hating goblins for the horde - For the Horde!!!!! - instead of the way cooler worgen, so I stayed away from goblins until I rolled a DK goblin a couple of weeks ago. Now I wish my Paladin, my main, could be a Goblin too, if nothing else because I find the goblin racial rocket jump both fun and incredibly useful for some boss fights while tanking, whereas the racial for blood elves only works half the effect against bosses, you get mana back, a full 2%, but you don't interrupt a boss.

Ya know, it's really not the race, it's the names of a couple of my characters that are annoying me. I wish they still had the $10 name change instead of having to pay the full $25 for recustomization.

They do. http://us.battle.net/wow/en/ ---> Services (top bar) ----> Name Change (right hand menu, second option under Character Transfer).

Noc and I play on Fenris, FWIW.

Also, Feyras does (or did). I haven't seen that guy in forever, though.

Horde side, right? You guys got a decent pop over there? My 85s are currently on Area 52 and it's got a nice population. I'm paranoid of low pop servers because of Star Wars.

I thought you guys were on Draka. I don't know why, but when I read "Theophany" I think of Draka.

Maybe it's all that acid I dropped in the 60s. No, that can't be it, I wasn't old enough.

It's got a pretty good population, I believe it's considered "medium" pop.

I played on Draka for a long time, yeah. I originally started on Perenolde, switched to Draka when my brother started playing, and Noc got me a referral or whatever that gave me a free faction and server transfer to her server.

So now I'm on Fenris.

I think I'll join you guys on Fenris. Gimme a character name to send a whisper to. I think I'll pool all my resources on my DK and transfer that character over as it's my best geared and I think favorite character.

I see the 2 links in your sig. The rogue has a special character in the name and the hunter link isn't loading.

I made a DK named Requiem and a rogue named Overpowdered on Fenris. The i in the DK's name is Ascii 139, so you 2 add me to your friends lists and send me a whisper if you see me. I'll be on a LOT this weekend.

I lost my hard drive this morning, so after replacing the drive, installing windows, drivers, Kaspersky, Firefox and the Launcher, I'm looking at a 20.1 gb download at DSL speeds. I am at work now so don't know how long its going to take, but I get to "Start over" too.

Of course I'll need to update windows, Reinstall Curse and my addons.

For future failures, Should I go with another internal drive or an external USB drive for backup purposes?

Thanks in advance for suggestions,

Portalgin

I was mulling over coming back for MoP.

Cata really didn't work for me, I stopped playing in Dec 2011, and my time ran out April 2012. I liked the majority of the raid encounters in Cata, but the changes to healing in general just killed it for me. By the end if Firelands it felt alright, but spamming aoe heals on my holy paladin just felt like I was playing another class and I wasn't enjoying myself anymore.

I picked up DIII and really did not enjoy that game in the slightest. I have been paying attention to MoP beta in the hopes that it would hook me but unless everyone I know starts telling me that they recaptured the magic I really don't have high hopes.

The changes to the talent trees and how they work has really helped me get back into the game. I enjoy that there aren't any game-breaking talent choices; it basically adds utility and personalization to how you're specced.

Not everyone is going to be happy with the changes, but I personally love them.

I feel the same way. Talents feel more like flavor now instead of a hard and fast set of passives that you need in order to succeed. From what I've seen, only a few classes have talents that even come close to mandatory and even those are still hotly debated.

I can identify with this.

I do wish I was eligible for the free week, I would probably get my toes wet. I don't believe that I am though.

I hear you there! I enjoy playing with him. He's going to show me the PvP ropes on my shaman so I can be a pocket heals for him =) I seriously suck at PvP, so hopefully learning from one of the best will make it much more enjoyable!

I'm a fairly decent PVPer and I would say a very good DK. I wonder how DK/Rogue/Resto sham is in 3v3?

You would think Resto for heals, Rogue for control and burst, and DK for control and burst would be decent. And I'm not awesome at PVP, just awesome at DK PVE. Learning DK PVP shouldn't be that difficult.
