should i start play WoW again?Follow

#1 Sep 09 2012 at 1:20 AM Rating: Good
so i used to play wow and stopped because the game began to bore me, when i played i had a level 72 ret pally. i used to tank but once cataclysm came out i switch to ret and didnt really like it. im also wondering what kind of hardware you guys use. like laptops vs desktops. if you guys could tell me what you use and why you think its better. i want to make a brand new character and i want to get an idea of what kind of toon i want to make. what i have in mind is a dps character, so what do u guys like better melee dps or ranged dps. if i make a ranged dps im thinking an undead shadow priest. i want to stick to the classic characters and the horde. the only im sure of is im defenatly choosing the horde. i also want to keep in mind using a charector that can be either a tank healer or dps such as a druid. also keep in mind i wont began play until after the new expansion is released so what do you guys think of the new panda race and monk class. so i look forward to hearing your responses :)

Now, that should be a bit easier to read... anyways...

1). They improved Ret Paladin some, but it depends on what exactly you didn't like about Ret Paladins -- if you didn't like the complex juggling of Inquisition, Zealotry, Wings, and Holy Power, well, they improved it some. You can hold up to 5 Holy Power now (which means having 3 and getting another one isn't a waste), Zealotry was removed IIRC, but Inquisition remains. You gain Holy Power from more sources which means it isn't as hard to do, and Divine Purpose is optional (a talent now) if you didn't like the extra complexity.

2). Hardware, eh, as long as it'll run the game at a decent speed, not sure that it matters much. Although keep in mind, with the newest patch that just came out (5.0.4), the required hardware is just a slice higher than it was; you'll probably do about 5 or so FPS less than you did before.

3). As far as what class/role to play, play what you're comfortable with, experiment around a bit. Characters get more toys earlier game with the new abilities/talent system, so you don't have to go more than Level 20 or so until you get a good idea of how a character plays. As for a class that can do all 3 roles, you could make a druid, paladin, or monk. Since you already had a paladin leveled, that seems like the most logical choice IMO. *shrug*

4). No need to wait for the expansion, IN FACT, they are doing a promotion where you get 7 days free game time if you start by Sept 19th, if your account is currently inactive. So you might as well take them up on that!

Druid, Monk or Paladin. Fit that bill.

In the end, if you had fun playing WoW by all means come back. I came back a bit over a month ago and I've had a blast. However, be warned, that the game hasn't changed THAT much IMO that if you left for a particular reason (dissatisfied with content or whatever), it's been fixed. Some new stuff is good though, talent trees for instace rock.

i want to stick to the classic

You probably shouldn't come back if your interest is "classic". Play the game for what it is today if you want entertainment, but looking for "classic" means that you probably aren't willing to do that, you're looking for a remembered glory. In the sense that I commonly see players use "classic" to describe an experience in WOW, the NFL doesn't play classic football. Ditch all that padding and bring back handles!

Your self restraint is admirable, Lyr! If that (OP) had been on paper, I would have expended half a pen worth of red ink.

I was merely focusing on breaking up the wall of text by placing a few Enter keystrokes in there to make it a bit easier to read.

I did note the plethora of grammar, capitalization, and spelling mistakes throughout the post, but figured I'd look like a grammar/spelling **** if I tried to fix all of that. Not to mention it would have taken a pretty good chunk of time to do.

I figured just adding the line breaks was good enough. *grins*
