MoP To-do listFollow

Not really a list, but anyhow ...

So after getting lucky on a few drops and rolls today, I decided to give soloing Stonecore normal on my paladin tank a shot. It's a fairly short run (around 10 minutes) to down the second boss, so not a big time-investment by any means. Regardless, with MoP around the corner I think I'm going to postpone farming him until level 90, where it should take even less time, provided there's no changes on drop-rates or something like that. Ditto for VP.

Having been absent for most of Cata means I have not had a real shot at the raid mounts either, so that's going directly to my to-do list come MoP. I was shocked when they didn't remove the achievement mounts in Ulduar, something they did with Naxx for instance, and at the time I wasn't too happy about the idea. Moving forward, however, I think it was a great idea. ICC HC and Ulduar runs are still popular on my server, and I imagine they will soon be joined by Cata's raids which does give something more to do I guess. Sadly, at least IMO, many of these runs are held by people to get their alts mounts, and that, for sure will be gone soon.

So MoP to-do list:

Solo VP and Stonecore.
Run all raids which I've missed this expansion.
Complete Glory of the Cataclysm dungeon master.
And decide whether I want to get back to raiding.

I'm hoping VP and Stonecore will be easily soloed at 90 as well, and they should be. I can easily do heroic Utgarde Pinnacle now as ret (trying for that mount, still no luck), so they should be easy too. I've cleared all Cataclysm raid content on normal, so I'm happy there, though I'd love to kill Sinestra for the Dragonslayer title. And I also need the Glory of the Cataclysm Hero or whatever the heroic 5man meta achievement is. I hated a lot of the heroics this expansion, so I just didn't bother doing it. I don't really have anything else I plan to go back and work on once MoP is released though. Except maybe finally getting my 10man T8 from Ulduar (so mad that I sold it before I knew about transmog!).

Onyxia! Can Onyxia be solo'd now? Sure thing, but come MoP it will be an even more menial task which I plan to undertake every reset until I get the mount. XD

Mount farming is fun if you farm a few mounts at the time IMO. If you're only shooting for one mount though ... Well, that's another matter.

I'd forgotten about Onyxia! I plan on going after Malygos weekly too at 90, at least on 10 man and I'll definitely see if 25man is soloable then. I need the mount from Sartharion 25man too, but that one might be a little harder. And yes, I enjoy mount farming when I have a little circuit of bosses to work through. When Rivendare's Charger was the only one I was working on, that was painfully discouraging.

I tried for the Maly mount on my hunter but I suck so I am just going to wait till 90 and decently geared to go back. Should make farming Kael easier and sartharion 10 man mount run cake (only need 42k dps to do a 10 man mount run without having to worry about the other drakes, 128k dps for 25 man... might help to bring a friend or two Smiley: tongue).

In the past couple months leading up to MoP I went on a mount hunting binge myself. With 11 85s I just parked them all at a place and farmed it daily. Got the MgT bird, Raven Lord, polar bear, I think a couple others. I was working on the UP blue proto and Rivendare but MoP came out before I got them.

I had tried soloing VP, and while it was doable on my DK, I found it took too long for me to bother sticking with it so I'll wait til 90.

Ony's a good call, I'll have to remember that. Still need the 10 man version of OS too, got the 25man mount a couple weeks ago.

Never got any of the mounts from Ulduar or ICC either so may look into that more this xpac too. And I am going to focus on getting those jeweled panthers made asap - already got my mining/jc maxed last night.

I dinged today and have been doing a lot of HCs in anticipation for potential raiding. I'm probably going to start farming stonecore later on next week as I got the green proto in one of those "gief tank" bags you get when you queue up for randoms. I have no idea how many eggs I had bought so far, but it's funny how after all these years I get the green proto in a bag instead of an egg. Not complaining though!

After getting to a pretty nice ilevel, basically BiS for tanks this side of VP items of which I only have one, I started farming Stonecore yesterday. Aside from being a moderate time investment, 6-8 minutes as paladin tank, it can be rather lucrative. Every run to the second boss, skipping the 1st worm boss, makes anywhere between 30g to 50g simply vendoring everything, can't be asked with DEing, which ain't half bad.

Stonecore is a rather nice place to farm. It's short, takes 0 time to get there thanks to the capital city portals, you can farm the mount on normal, and you can zip back through a portal too. VP seems a rather more inconvenient place, so I'll leave that for a later time I guess.
