Good Afternoon guys, hope all is well with everyone.

Anyways, have you guys heard anything about the WoW armory being taken offline today? I'm not sure I exactly understand what's being 'decommissioned.' I just checked the site and it seems to be online and working just fine. Even looked myself up and everything seems legit.

Here's the thread I'm referring to.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding something..

"The Armory," referring to a place on Blizzard's web site where you can see the details of a character, still exists. You can use the search bar at the top of the screen to search for the name of a Character; when you click on their name you'll be taken to a page like http://us.battle.net/wow/en/character/nazjatar/Cyaga/simple that has gear, achievements, stats, etc. for the character. You can also search for items, guilds, arena teams and more.

"The Armory," referring to the XML feeds that were transformed with XSLT to show the old profile pages and could be used by programmers to get data for a character, no longer exists; this data is now exposed to us in the form of the Community Platform API.

Is that the answer?

The armory still seems to work for me... Smiley: confused

It sounds like they're changing the way 3rd party sites access character data to a new format and gave the people that run those sites a time frame to make the transition before stopping the old format.

Alright, I was confused as to what all the XSLT, API, and XML refers to. Left me scratching my head.

This seemed to at least dumb it down a bit, makes more sense. Thank you.
