Wow what a weekend. It flooded down here Friday, so my Saturday on rotation was a beast. The phones did not stop ringing and it was virtually impossible to make my own calls out. Sunday I had contractors coming in to give me quotes on what it's going to take to fix the water damage to my condo. Taking off tomorrow to have more contractors come in.

I did get some good gaming time in on Sunday and did a lot of crafting with my alt in Star Wars.

How was your weekend?

It rained here too, a LOT. 1.5" in less than an hour, had creeks and streams flooding. It actually cooled off a bit, but we were still running the a/c because it was so humid.
And yes, I did get to play. The painting will wait a few weeks, since we're going out of town next Friday.
Worked on my hunter a bit, but my guild has been pretty deserted. We seem to be in a pre-expansion lull.

Now that you mention it ... I thought I'd take a walk in the rain and get cat food. It turned out to be a slightly damper experience than I'd anticipated.

WOW: I'll skip to the end of the story. It has been interesting to dust off my old, original characters. It has also been mildly disheartening because I'd just begun to get my current (Guangdong) characters ready for MoP. I don't want to drop that work and can't transfer them to the Beijing server -- those accounts are filled and I don't want to delete the characters that are there.

As a further complication, I joined a level 14 guild which was bulk recruiting to level up. No problem, they help me and I help them, but there isn't any strong bond. Sunday night, I was on the new DK in Terrokar and got a whisper. I hit my usual "Oops! Sorry, I'm a foreign player and can't read Chinese." After chatting a bit, they wanted to invite me to join their guild instead. They're friendly, helpful and have the same end of expansion boredom we all face, which makes me something of an amusing distraction. Sigh. I really didn't plan on another DK main, nor was I planning on making an extended return to a server that is full of old memories. Oh, well, I guess things will sort out when MoP hits. For all I know, the Guangdong servers will continue to run at 1K+ latency (I suspect the Great Firewall is having growing pains) and I'll be glad to be in a good guild Beijing side.

Oh, yeah! Goals! I got the DK to 65 (4 levels), my old Horde main to 72 (2 levels) and lost track of my old Alliance main's progress (but I think it was around 6 levels and he's close to hitting Outland). I also made myself bring some order to my banking across both factions and that was a mess itself. I think I'll hold on to that extra Deviant Scale Belt recipe until MoP hits. Smiley: nod

RL: The cat (usually known as the Demon Beast) doesn't know how lucky he is that I'm a sucker for felines. Aside from my stroll in the rain, things were quiet. Bun-Bun did make a quick visit on Sunday and showed me that her cuts were less of a mess than they looked in the picture she sent. The rain had minimal impact on me since I live on the 9th floor. I had some leaking around the windows since they were on the upwind side of the storm, but it is a newer complex and things are generally in decent shape. Rain in my district was strong, but not as severe as some areas experienced.

Let's see...

I got all of those 377 capes made, except Intellect ones (we're a little short on Cloth), I got all of my Alliance characters emptied out, inventory-wise (maybe now mom can stop complaining anytime she goes to help me with something lol), and I got some stuff cleared out of the Alliance guild bank.

Also got the Alliance Guild almost caught up to the Horde one, did 3 characters worth of Tol Barad dailies to do that.

Meh, wasn't too bad I suppose.

Did a bunch of this-n-that over the weekend.

Smiley: dubious NoScript didn't play well with your video, but international news doesn't seem to agree.

You guys went and built in a swamp; Monty Python has already told us what happens if you build your castle in a swamp. Beijing, unfortunately, doesn't have a coastal city's safety measures and infrastructure. Some areas were hit with as much as 14 inches of rain, coupled with poor drainage.

As an inland city more accustomed to not getting enough rain, Beijing was like a PUG that failed to down a boss before the enrage timer. There is a good bit of speculation that deaths and injuries were well above what has been officially reported. As a further complication, Beijing traffic is horrible on a normal day. Most drivers here are relatively inexperienced (many have only been driving for a few years) and don't know how to handle the dangers that flooded roads present. You can imagine how that went.

-Work on finishing Kalimdor loremaster. About half way done so I probably will finish this.

Got that done easy enough. Now to work on Northrend this week.

-Not much going on this weekend, yet again. Roommate is going to be super busy with work though so I get the house to myself for the majority of the weekend. Time to break out some booze and ... play wow. Smiley: frown

Play WoW I did.
