It looks like there is finally some solid information about some of the changes that MoP will bring to professions.

Archaeology

Inscription

Alchemy

I'm glad to see them trying to improve things. Hopefully, there are other tweaks in store to bring lower level skills up to speed with current content.

Woot, a Re-usable Flask.

Awesome!

*looks at Inscription*

BoA weapons. About friggin time.

IMO, they should make all profession-specific items BoA instead of BoP. That way, we get rewarded for having these leveled on our alts.

The one thing I don't like is again the Alchemists end up making the endgame metals.

Arrrrrrrrrgh.

Bad Blizzard, Bad.

This means it will probably be a daily cooldown, yet again annoyingly so.

It was better back in the Titansteel days when miners made the metal. That's what smelting is for, right? Making metals?

Now Alchemists back in Wrath had an option to make Titanium Bars out of Saronite Bars, that was all fine as it wasn't the only way to obtain said bars.

But in Cataclysm, Truegold can only be made by alchemists and it is a pain in the butt to make anything Truegold related (esp when it takes 8 days' worth of bars because the stupid mastery almost NEVER procs)....

Smiley: laugh Relax, nothing is set in stone yet. They keep making that point in the blue posts. While you're correct, we have every reason to worry that it might play out as you think, we also know that they have used other models (such as the one you mentioned). Like most of the data mined information, it is a teaser and not much more. It looks like they're trying to clean things up a bit and make professions more interesting, so there may be hope.

That is not a new thing.

http://www.wowhead.com/item=58149 (Cataclysm)
http://www.wowhead.com/item=47499 (Wrath)

And I suspect the tooltip for the MoP one is bugged, because 3420 of your main stat is more than three times what the non-reusable flasks give and in the past the permanent flasks were subpar. But maybe they fixed that and if so I'll be quite happy.

I like that the inscription weapons are BoA since my scribe is an enhancement shaman and has no need for an offhand or staff.

Somehow missed the one for Cataclysm; I knew one existed for Wrath, I thought something seemed kinda funny.

Inscription looked better than I thought it would due to the BOA weapons and salable shoulder chants. Maybe MoP will suck less than I feared. I wonder if they will make the DM cards require fewer ingredients ? Anyone have a clue on that one ?

Just realized there is no elemental transmute. This may mean the engineer's mote extractor will make a comeback..

Mote Extractor.... yeah, I wouldnt mind having another use for it. Of course, I wouldnt mind a renewal of a lot of old engineer items (long suggestion list).

I also agree about the appearance atm of the metals shiz.

For the love of god though.... stop ******** with jc's and having them get stuck with craptons of 1 or 2 colors of gems that have little in the way of recipes to make use of them. (Looking at you yellows) And the crafted pvp jewelry isnt much of an improvement when you gotta blow 4 days of the jc daily tokens for 1 ring/neck. That does crap for lowering the gem stockpile.

Fewer tokens and another gem or 2 to mats cost would be an appropriate tradeoff.

All gems have a purpose...

Green = Jade Rings (random enchants, Rare-quality ones used to sell decently in the first half of the expansion). Also used in one of the JC Daily Quests.
Orange = Lv82 Rings (ditto, those rings were BiS until rep vendor rewards/dungeon drops)
Yellow = Lv80 Amulets (Rare-Quality were 79; these are awesome for Lv80 cap content, esp PvP).
Purple = Lv82 Amulets, also one of the JC Daily Quests.
Reds = Carnelian Spikes, an awesome Lv81 1h slow agility for hunters/shaman/combat rogues.
Blue = JC Daily Quest.

They all have their uses. The Rare-Quality gems are all used in making Perforators, the Lv83 333 1h slow agility.

Awww they're bringing back the lotus again? I was so glad to be done with that idea. As they could never seem to get the drop rate right. Smiley: frown

Also with that icon I'll be expecting a buff... Smiley: lol
