I'm very sorry, I didn't mean to offend you.
I just rapidly read the responses and rarely look at the names of posters.

I'm not offended at all! Truth be told, I thought it was pretty funny.

I know you're just dying to know, so. . .

Sometime back in the late 90s (who can remember?) I wanted a hotmail account but someone had taken cynic@hotmail.com. So I quickly tried cynyck and it worked. Up to then I had used "cynic" as my nic in a2600w, so that was why I wanted the cynic@hotmail.com. Now, I had to check dictionary.com to make sure I'm spelling cynic correctly!

Anyway, I'm figuring you're a captain in the Canadian army, hence the capcanuck.

Mazra, of course, is really Japanese and the CEO of Mazda Motor Corporation.

Then again, you could be Henrik Sedin . . . hmm . . .

After losing it many many times I finally got the ZA mount yesterday. Would have gotten it way earlier but very few people I know are playing right now so I couldn't assemble a full group of my own. Winning it felt really good because I had already begun to dread that I would somehow manage to never own it.

Well, I dunno. I guess it's a good think SOME of the mounts are account-wide. I do feel Blizzard has gone a bit too far on this one though. IMO, and it probably is an opinion not shared by many, grindable mounts, either by gold or some other currency, should be account wide. RNG, Raid and PvP mounts should not. Mains ARE mains after all ...

I kind of disagree. I admit that you have a good point there. It certainly is not a bad thing if you feel a special connection to the character you play most.
But on the other hand the reason Blizzard is doing this is taking away some of the reservations people have when it comes to switching their main. And I have to say that is a very good reason in my book. I'm a completionist. Before this change I would never have considered changing my main. For me to feel comfortable with the new character he/she would have to earn every mount/pet/achievement/FoS my old character already has. Even if that was possible it would mean a huge time investment to achieve things I have already done in the past. So I for one really dig this.

And specially things like the Raven Lord/the Molten Front pet I don't ever EVER want to farm again. Smiley: lol

In the end I would rather build the connection with my main via him/her having the best gear of all my characters or (if you're into RP) creating a really awesome backstory (NOT Mary Sue please) or something like that.

Agreed. Mains are NOT mains. I have no intention on switching my main at the moment, but I did switch mains just before Wrath launched. My mage (old main) had a bunch of stuff that I wanted on my new main, which meant I did Skyguard and Netherwing rep again, farmed for hours for another Firefly pet, etc. My paladin (current main) now has 178 pets, 138 mounts and nearly 12k achievement points. I was talking to a friend a few months ago before the account wide changes were announced and told him that I would never switch mains again because of all the work I've put into my paladin. At least now, if I change my mind I won't feel like I have to start over on a new main. And I am a completionist - I would want to grind everything again.

I agree with Tellaria here. Since I started, my warlock was my main and had all the pets/mounts/titles/etc. When cata hit, I didn't like what they did with warlocks at all - the whole bane/curse/dot/boom thing I find more annoying than fun - but none of my other toons ever really had any "goodies" to speak of, and I had no desire to go re-grind everything again so my "main" through this entire expansion has been running around with a dozen or so of the basic mounts and whatever handful of pets she happened upon.

And then there's stuff like, the druid I leveled and ran at 85 for, oh, 2 weeks or so lucked into stonecore mount. Great. The druid. The one who never uses mounts. And one of my others - don't even remember which - got the Phoenix hatchling - which I don't think I've ever used because I'm rarely on that toon.

I think the same goes for really grindy stuff like the Green Proto, Polar bear (which I have *still* never gotten), Netherwings & Talbuks . . .I'm just simply not going to do all that stuff 10, 11, or 20 times.

If all my people had all the stuff I worked for (or lucked into) available to them, honestly I'd probably be more inclined to play them more, thus playing the game more. Which, I would assume is Blizzard's goal.

I have a druid who has the Headless Horseman Mount and my main still doesn't have it. When Cataclysm was released, I decided I wanted a worgen druid instead, so I deleted the NE druid who had the mount, cried a little, but since that toon was level 71 still and I really don't care for NEs, I got over it and figured I'd keep farming the Horseman every year. However, when they announced accountwide mounts, I was a little annoyed that I no longer had the toon with the Horseman's mount. And then I remembered that sometimes Blizzard will restore deleted toons! So I submitted a ticket last week and 4 hours later had my druid and her Headless Horseman Mount back. Currently on beta you keep the mounts even if you delete the original toon that had them, so I'm hoping that remains the case cause I don't need 2 druids when I don't really plan on playing either of them.
