Swift Springstrider can be confirmed as a drop. Right, 441 pieces of chocolate into the Swift Springstrider grind ... it dropped. Smiley: oyvey May the dev that came up with this grind find his girlfriend's panties have a similar drop rate.

I did not see the black or pink versions of the Spring Circlet drop. They are available from the vendor.

Drop rates on other items may be slightly worse than last year. During the grind I got 4 of the Spring Rabbit; 3 each of the dress, robe, and shirt, and two each of the circlet and flowers. RNG is RNG, your mileage may vary. It took over 100 chocolate for my first rabbit to drop and over 250 for the first dress.

I never did like this event Smiley: lol

Right now there is absolutely ridiculous camping going on my Alliance server...

I see this as being a nearly impossible event.

They couldn't have instanced these to work like Archaeology?

They couldn't have spread the eggs out all through the zone instead of JUST in a small 50 yard radius?

They couldn't have priced the mount/pet at something reasonable? Maybe make the pet BoP?

They couldn't have set the mount drop at something reasonable?

Ugh.

Now we get people sitting at the spawns just waiting for them to spawn, and sometimes at some of the better spawns, there's 2, 3+ people sitting ontop of the same spawn, even in places like Dolnaar and Azure Watch. I heard someone say that there were 200+ people in Goldshire.

Does Blizz never learn from their mistakes? Are they this unable to predict the consequences of their actions by now?

Or do they LIKE players tripping over themselves to ***** each other over? As much as Blizz preaches that they want players to work together, they sure as heck try their hardest to make everything a camping competition.

it took me 2 and a half hours to get 500 eggs and that was right at the beginning when everything opened up. I was still competing with like 10 other people and that was still annoying. As for drop rates i saw 4 pets, one circlet, 3 pants, 3 shirts, 3 or 4 of the dress and 2 of the robes. So at least on my end the mount drop rate seems to be stupid low from the eggs since i bought mine from the vendor.

I managed to get it done earlier on a low-to-mid pop server (my Horde server), and it helped that it was Falconwing Square... and not some of the other horrid places to gather eggs (seriously, you expect people to walk 30 yards+ for each egg in Bloodhoof Village?).

In those ~550 candies I obtained...

7 Branches
2 Dresses
3 Pants
4 Shirts
2 Pets
0 Mounts
4 Bunnymakers

...meh. At least I'm not one of those poor sods who got the mount at the 400+ mark. That would be incredibly annoying... but then I guess those peeps blow their candies on pets to flood the AH with...

HOPEFULLY one of these evenings or early mornings on my Alliance server, I can actually find a town that's not camped to death to get this done on my Alliance main.

I got my 500 eggs for the mount. I also did not get any of the elegant dresses from eggs (though lots of everything else) which is annoying because I still don't have the achievement for pulling the dress from an egg. I also picked up a bunny pet and didn't realize it wasn't soulbound like it used to be so I deleted it. >.<

Seriously. I understand feeling frustrated, but chill out. You have a week to finish up the holiday. Last year it took me a couple days on my druid to get everything done.

I got the rabbit and mount on the same daily with my rogue. Out of my 6 85's that I did the dailies, I got 1 tux set, and 1 bunny ears. I'm very lucky and done for this year. lol

I'm never going to use the ground mount, so I gave up trying to even get it. Hunting eggs is boring lol.

I got my mount this morning. I bound a macro to F1 to use the basket, then use an egg. I set a power auras to let me know when I didn't have the speed buff. This morning at 5:30 I got on in Azure Watch and ran around like crazy.

483/500 chocolates for the mount, and the mount drops in an egg. The only thing I can do with my chocolates now is either a) eat them; or b) buy pets...which the market is already flooded with.

Rather than be thrilled that the mount dropped, I'm kind of disappointed that I seem to have done all that egg grinding for no good reason now, lol.

So buy up pets and hold on to them until the market isn't saturated with them? Smiley: tongue

I'm usually not the type to go raging, but...

I can understand frustration.

People who have work schedules like mine absolutely loathe holidays until the achievements are done. Noblegarden started this past Sunday, which I had off work. I was able to get one of my characters done. The other, on Moon Guard (high pop RP server), not so much. Camp camp camp camp camp, 50+ people in every single egg area.

Next morning (Tuesday as I write this), I had to work. I didn't get home until 3pm, and when I got home... 50+ people in all the egg areas. This persisted until well into the night.

This morning, is the only day I have off this week. I had to go grocery shopping in the morning, checked when I got online: 50 people in all egg areas, except Azuremyst which had 35-ish. Still too camped to really get any eggs.

As of this writing, 50+ people in all egg areas.

Looking at this week...

Tomorrow, I work 12-9. Safe to say, no egg farming for me.
Thursday, I work 9 until whenever we get done, usually 2PM-ish. We'll see if any of the areas are opened up.
Friday, I work 11:30-7:30. Unless things really start clearing out, I won't have much time to farm eggs then either.
Saturday, I work 11:30-9.

The Holiday ends on Midnight Saturday Night IIRC.

From the look of things, my only hope is that I can pray that I will get an opportunity somewhere between Thurs Night and Fri Morning to get my stuff, and do the rest of the achievements (since you can't work on ANY of the achievements until you've done some egg hunting first). That's right -- I have to find all the races for the Bunny-maker, I have to fly around planting flowers, I have to get my rabbit to spit out eggs and I have to hope someone's on that can help me with laying an egg in Un'goro...

...within the span of 2 days, that I work most of those two days.

This is why I hate 1-week Holidays and why I get frustrated when there's this much camping going on.

"You have the rest of the week!" they say.

Yeah, um, I work most of this week unfortunately.

Actually you have until 3am on Sunday, I think. I understand the frustration though. Thing is, you don't have to do them. They're optional. If the idea of camping eggs with over 30 other people around as competition bothers you, then don't do it. WoW is a game, it's supposed to be fun.

See, thing is, I'd like the violet proto.

You can't get the violet proto without the Noblegarden Meta.

Can't get the Noblegarden Meta without gathering all of that stuff.

So, because of Blizzard's refusal to make sensible tweaks (many, upon many suggestions were suggested over the last few years each Noblegarden), some people like me should just give up on the entire violet proto achievement?

There's lots of suggestions that were made, thigns like....

1). Make eggs spawn anywhere in the entire zone, not just the starter town so it would be nearly impossible to camp (obviously, increase the number of simultaneous eggs that can be up at one time). That way, there could be 100 people in the zone and you would still have a reasonable time farming the eggs.

2). Make the eggs phased/instanced like Archaeology works -- put, say, 10 eggs up at a time, but only you can see and interact with them just like how Archaeology digsites work. That way, there could be 500 people there and you'd still have a reasonable time farming the eggs.

3). Put eggs in more towns spread across the world, like Candy Buckets and Elder Coins. That way, you could surely find some out of the way town with hardly nobody in it and farm your eggs there.

4). Make the stupid pet BoP (or BoA, better yet) like the mount is -- this would get rid of the people farming eggs for pets to sell. Yes, people STILL do this even though the pets are <100g on both of the servers I play on.

Just to touch the tip of the iceberg of suggestions that were offered.

They know players on high pop servers have serious trouble getting this done, this has been a problem for *years*... I don't understand why they're dragging their feet about it.

Exactly. This is the first time I've ever really done Noblegarden. I'll get back to farming my Archaeology bug mount later tonight. I can do that on my schedule.

I've eaten my 100 chocolates, plus bought the Tome of Polymorph: Rabbit for 100 chocolates. (another bop item, I might add, haha)

The 483 chocolates I have left are exactly that: leftovers. I have given all of my toons a pet, and still have 8 rabbit pets sitting in the bank, taking up space. Guildies don't want them, and the AH has a ton of them posted for <50g. I don't believe any are actually selling. So those 483 chocolates will just rot in my backpack, unless I delete them, or they disappear naturally when Noblegarden is complete.

Buy the pets and stick them in your personal bank, or mail them to an alt's bank if your main has no room.

Wait 3+ months and keep checking the prices -- they will improve over time.

When Christmas was the current holiday, most of the Christmas pets were <50 gold too.

But I checked the price a few days ago and they were averaging 300g+ per.

I bet a couple months from now, they'll be even more.

I'm gonna bide my time until maybe after Midsummer's.

Just because its optional doesn't mean people can't complain. Since it is a game, they do have the right to express themselves. Simply telling people they don't have to do it is a bad dismissal of the problem. We're talking about Blizzard Entertainment. The company that makes millions upon millions of dollars a year. Its not unreasonable to ask that they stop designing these holiday events like this was 2005. They have the resources, they have the support of the community, there is no good reason they shouldn't take steps to improve the holiday experiences. Other than the fact that people will just keep doing it because they want that oh so precious title/mount.

So maybe the solution is to stop doing them. If enough people say ***** it and just let it go then maybe they'll get the hint that most of these holiday events are pathetically boring. Maybe I'd say differently had I not long achieved my violet proto. I don't know. But looking at it objectively, the holiday events are EXTREMELY outdated and extremely disappointing for the world's most popular MMO.
#22 Apr 10 2012 at 8:55 PM Rating: Good
the only ting i do with holiday events is get pets and/or mounts on my alts.
Sadly I do not see me getting the mount on more than one toon. I don't even have 200 candies yet XD Not being able to sit for more then an hour or 2 makes some some events suck...

I never said they didn't have a right to complain. Like I said, I understand the frustration. I think Blizzard should fix the issues too, I never said I didn't. Lyr just sounds really bothered by it, and I think sometimes people forget that WoW is supposed to be fun. By all means, complain to Blizzard about the issues, but again if it bothers you so much, don't do them. I think the idea that if enough people stopped doing the holiday achievements, maybe blizz would fix them, is a good idea. Complaining here doesn't really accomplish much though.

Fair enough. In the interest of providing a counter point ... how's the grind going for you? Have you found any good ways to get around the crowds this year? On our servers, things seem much worse this year, how about yours?
#25 Apr 11 2012 at 4:11 AM Rating: Good
I have no idea. I haven't logged in the game since Friday, and before that I hadn't logged in in over a month. I haven't had much desire to play WoW of late. That said, I do need to get the holiday done on my priest, so I'll probably log in today or tomorrow and check things out. My server is pretty population heavy, although Alliance outnumber us by 2 or 3 to one, so being Horde isn't quite so bad.

Signon time 6:30am, Azure Watch. Use power auras to watch for "Egg Rush" dropping off.
Bind the macro :

/use Brightly Colored Egg
/use egg basket

To key F1 for easy refresh of the buff and opening of eggs. I gathered up enough eggs to finish up my achievements this morning. Competing against another person or two, I got 157 Noblegarden Chocolate per hour. I did not find it fun to compete in prime time. Signing on at an off peak hour was much more enjoyable.
