Are we going to get eleven toons per server?
My ten slots are full. :-(
It's something they've talked about doing. One thing they mentioned they might do is to keep the maximum characters total at 50, like it is today, but allow you to have more than 10 to a server. So, if you wanted, you could have all 50 on one server.
They really do need to do something. I'm at the point where I'm starting to think about leveling one of my bank/ah alts which would totally screw up my storage system. It's either that or start playing more on other servers where I don't have all of my gold and my 'support staff' of crafters handy.
I haven't really thought about Panda names yet or even what class I would make one. I don't want to do Panda Monk though because so many people will be making those. I was thinking maybe a Panda Warrior or a Panda Shaman since I enjoy both of those classes.
There was a post by Ghostcrawler that was discussing the problem. The most prominent idea was that they would keep the current cap, but allow you to pick where you had that cap. So, you could have 50 characters on one server in theory. None of it was "final" and he did say they weren't sure what to do...but I think its become such a glaring problem they will have to do it.
I'm trying to find the link. I know there are some older posts that say he had no intentions of doing that, but a more recent one from either Blizzcon 11 or after said they were looking into the issue and planning on doing something. Edited, Feb 27th 2012 5:18pm by ekaterinodar
