Good luck on that, I have neither the time nor desire to log on, really.
And when I do have the time, it's more fun to just read and post on ZAM.

But then I realized that I miss my old guildies who left my server and I have some of them as real id friends still......so, I think if they got it working, I might actually spring for it if it didn't cost much. >.<

Hmm, hadn't thought of that. I have a few friends and an ex on my old server (not with REAL ID though) who I wouldn't mind running dungeons with. I'd just have to figure out how to get a hold of the ones I don't have on facebook. I don't like the idea of paying for the service though, especially since I don't see how it would actually cost Blizz that much to start up this service and keep it going.

Not to mention that we zammers could run groups too.

Yeah and that would be really cool. Plus the whole privacy aspect of REAL ID isn't an issue now since the invent of our facebook group. =x

You guys have a Facebook group? Why does this make me giggle? I imagine you all spamming one another with Farmville updates.

Farmville is for losers! I very occasionally play Frontierville when I'm bored, but I only got into it for that Game Studies class I took last term. We were required to play it throughout the whole term. Haven't bothered to delete it yet.

Carmen San Diego is pretty fun too, but the facebook game is a lot harder than the old computer game was. I have to google pretty much every location clue because they're so off the wall.

In a time of wide spread disgruntled players introducing a piece of news that further alienates a population of loyal customers is a bad business deal IMO. Here is an idea. If you want to make more money...halve the character transfer service price and watch as business goes way way up. Right now its priced so high that only the wealthy or most desperate will take advantage of it.

What happened to the ****-storm in a lot of the forums about queue times, lack of tanks/healers, bad dps'ers and how the LFD tool had taken the away the community feeling on servers?

That depends. Blizzard may be assuming that a silent majority enjoys the feature while a vocal minority dislikes those portions, or that while people may enjoy it overall but dislike some parts.

It could also be simply that they feel it's popular because it's constantly being used.

Or they dont give a **** for what gamers think and will keep pushing tools to make money. That sounds good, too.

IMO, from a 'making money' point of view, they should keep it fairly cheap. As a cheap/free version could encourage server transfers.

As for the premium-based objections, I'm 'meh' on it. WoW has introduced so many premium based features and changed things so much over the last couple of years. I'm having trouble being bothered by it anymore, as we're already pretty far down that slippery slope. Morbid curiosity will probably keep me interested in seeing how far it goes though.

I would assume they would tack it onto the wow remote. They could add the CRLFD and just call the whole thing a premium account in which you pay an extra $2.99 more a month. That's my guess.

Always a possibility, but I try to be less cynical about this kind of thing, since I'm so cynical about everything else.

This would be a very nice feature. If I had any friends that is.

Considering its enormous popularity and how it's completely revolutionized the lower levels of the game (ie, it's actually possible to find a group pre-level-cap now), I'm going to guess that the majority of players like it and it's a vocal minority, as Pold said, who oppose it for the "damage" it's done.

Overall, I like the dungeon finder. It has its drawbacks, of course. But it has made dungeons far easier to access. Sure I miss some of the community aspects, but on the flipside I like the fact that I now have a very low chance of running with the same idiot ever again. Whereas when I was limited to my realm chances are I'd run into an idiots alt sometime in the future.
