Yet another SurveyFollow

#1 Mar 15 2011 at 1:03 AM Rating: Default
Approved 3-14-2011 ~ Administrator Kaolian

The survey is now closed.
I want to thank all of you lovely players who took the time to answer my questions. You've been a huge help!
And I apologize for the inconvenience for those who are sick of all the surveys. I too get frustrated when I have to justify my love for games to people who know nothing of them.

So thank you again and kiitos!

Lots of love,
Hanna-Kaisa

I know it's been approved but i'm going with Kao's idea on this one and say we only allow certain amount a month the rest get taken off no matter what.

Aww, I had hoped that the survey would be about WoW clothing/gear design, that would have been fun and original, you really missed an opportunity there if you ask me.
#4 Mar 15 2011 at 4:06 AM Rating: Good
Extremely short survey. Good luck.

There should just be a thread for people to post their approved surveys in so we don't get bombarded with too many survey threads.

Yeah, the first page is so crowded these days, what, with all the talk about beers, dentists and bouncing boobies.

Surveys are taking up valuable space. Smiley: rolleyes

On this survey: It's really short (one page), so not a time sink like some of those 20-page surveys. It does, however, seem rather rushed. For instance, question 5 says "Have you noticed a change in your behaviour when you play online, compared to the way you behave offline? Have you noticed any changes in others?" and the only options are "Yes for both", "Yes, but only in others" and "No". Smiley: um If I've noticed a change in behavior for myself, but not others, what do I answer?

I wish the rest of them were more like this. Much easier to check some boxes than reply to questions in my inbox.

I forgot you were from Finland.

Also, there aren't any Danish people left. Or there are, but the only ones I've seen were posting on the Rift boards and sending me private messages.

Rarely get to use my Danish these days.

Jeg er lidt i tvivl om, hvor jeg skal starte. Har ikke haft undervisning i Fælles Mål og *********** for dansk.

Men vi kan da starte med nogle simple ord og sætninger:

Hej - Hi/Hello
Hej - Bye (inorite?)
Jeg hedder - My name is
Jeg vil gerne bede om en Grøn Tuborg - I'd like a Green Tuborg (because Carlsberg is the devil!)
DET ER MIN ØL, SLIP DEN! - It's my beer, let it go! (capitalization is important since taking another person's beer is a very grave offense)

Nu er du fuldt ud rustet til at drikke dig i hegnet herovre.

The whole æ-ø-å thing might be slightly complicated on a US keyboard, I'm not sure. Also, I wrote the entire thing in Danish because that's how my Danish teacher did back in the days, so it works, right? Right?

lol Of course! Though, it probably would be so much easier if you were speaking it to me so I knew how to exactly pronounce the words. As for hi and bye being similar, it's not as strange as some may think (Think of Aloha). Makes sense depending on where it's used in the sentence.

As for the letter characters, I just need to find the alt codes for them, and I'll be good =P

Yay for learning a new language! =)

Edit: I'm assuming Jeg is to talk about me/I ? I like to break down the words to figure out the meaning so it makes more sense.

I had put the other four sentences into a translator, and they came back kind of funny. So I'll put what I THINK it's supposed to mean in parenthesis:

"I am awhile to doubt about , where i shall launch (It's been a while, where should I start). Hasn't had education to Corporate Destination and *********** by Danish (Haven't had to teach Danish?)

However vi can be when launch by some plain words and sentences (However, I can start off with some easy words and sentences)

Actually are you fully forth rustet to that drink yourself to the fence at this end (Actually, are you sure that you want to continue on at this point?)"

I love online translators. And I will definitely "drink myself to the fence at this point" lol

Ah, yes, the pronunciation.

That's actually the tricky part, unless you're used to soft D's. For instance, in 'red' you pronounce the 'd' by sort of touching your palate (wtf kind of name is that, by the way?) with the tip of your tongue, but in Danish (red means 'save' - as in saving someone - in Danish), you pronounce the 'd' by letting your tongue slide out of your mouth (without actually doing it) as you form the letter.

Imagine having a swollen tongue. That's pretty much how you do it.

Jeg = I
Mig = Me
Min/Mit = My/Mine
Mine = My/Mine pl.

I don't think so. I just tried it and it doesn't sound like it.

Æble (apple) is pronounced, err...: ehh-bl-ugh

Man, this is hard.

I remember when we were kids and used to do that often. Made is sound like we were saying the "A-hole" word lol. We were mature! Don't hate!

Is it like bleu but saying it with like a french accent or something (the bl-ugh)? Or is the "ugh" a hard g?
