Anyone else having issues with logging into an instance and then having WoW completely freeze up on you? I've had it happen in ToC and Oculous so far with Oc being the worst in that we kept having party members joining and freezing - must have gone through half a dozen peeps before we ended up simply 4 manning it.
Yes, and it's not uncommon on my server. I've spent too many times waiting half an hour for an instance only to have WoW hard crash once I enter. I'm seriously considering not doing instances at all until this is acknowledged and fixed.
Seems to only be the first time I go into one with a toon as I've had one toon freeze up in an instance and then had the next toon get that same one without issue.
I've had the weird lock up during 2 separate, yet consistent issues. When using a Meeting stone to summon other group members, and when attempting to logout and switch toons. Sucks that I actually have to quit the game and restart if I want to switch to a different character. With the summoning, I actually had to CAD, then wait after logging back on to join the group. I'm hoping that it's just something with the files, and they fix it with subsequent hotfixes.

Yes and strangely enough with those same two instances. The Oculus twice on my Shaman and ToC once on my Lock. Ended up dead and in Dalaran (no chance to rez) from the ToC one with a 43 g repair bill. Lovely.
I didn't exactly freeze, but this morning while doing the daily random, I took so long to load up that my group was halfway to the first boss before I managed to finish the load screen for HFoS.
Sigh - it's happening on BGs too now and it hasn't mattered if I've already been in said BG that day or the previous one.
I had it happen just now when I tried to show my girlfriend the Headless Horseman fight. I got in just fine but, as soon as someone clicked on the pumpkin to summon the guy, pretty much everything stopped. I could still move my mouse cursor around but I couldn't alt+tab to any other window and nothing moved on WoW. Ended up having to restart the computer. Hopefully it smooths out and works well soon.
(Edit: When I logged back in I was still in the dungeon - the healer was still in a group with me too, so maybe they froze as well. The Loot-Filled Pumpkin was in my bad. No loot but I did get my 24 Justice Points.)

When I lay down a fish feast, I disconnect, then anyone who eats it does also. Don't eat the fish, the fish is old....
The pumpkin is cursed for me. Every time I tried to click it, my game would lock up on me just like Smallsword. Hoping for a hotfix that will solve it. On a slightly related topic, I wonder if the hallows end bags are suppose to be completely empty, I have yet to get something from them. :l

Sounds like more incarnationa of the widget bug.
Every item with a widget, from soulwells and mage tables to the flags in battlegrounds, has the potential to crash people who even mouse over them. It’s a huge pain.
Deleting the WTF folder after such a crash has helped some people not get the same crash over and over. But it’s apparently a huge problem.

Yep - I can't figure out if it's the quick burst of people buffing or the system changes from realm to instance... I don't know...
But I crash about 1 out of 3 -or- 1 out of 4 times.
Ironically - As a tank - It never crashes, but on a quickly replaced DPS.... all the time.

In ToC, it was whenever I right clicked on something. Soulwell, fish feast, etc. In occulus, I didn't even do anything before it froze up. Its happened to others in my guild too.

Whenever I change zone and get a loading screen the loading bar will just stay empty and never load. I have to alt+tab and exit WoW, then restart, really annoying when wiping against Halion and combined with the slow flight times. This happens roughly 50% of the loading screens. The worst example of this was the Headless Horseman. The loading screen froze up, so I exited WoW and reconnected. Only to be told I couldnt log onto my main because a character with his name already existed...
Also, if I alt+tab while Hearthing I will be disconnected from the server. If I alt+tab while flying, I will be disconnected from the server... I have to sit and watch these 5 minute flight paths while doing the Hallows End achievement.

I only had a problem in Oculus on Saturday when my Draenei Shaman got it as a random. The game would freeze as soon as I appeared in the instance. I had to restart the game three times before I could get in and actually move. I swear it seemed like it was going to freeze up that third time too but suddenly everything went normal and I was able to catch up to the group who were halfway to the portal to the first boss. They were discussing kicking me so I'm glad they waited as long as they did.

A possible workaround for the Cogwheel of Doom bug! I haven't tested it myself, but a guildie swears this works.
Script out this macro:
/console showDetailDoodads 0
/console showSimpleDoodads 1
Run the macro every time you zone.
Deleting your WTF folder is probably also a good idea.

Yep I have been seeing this mainly when going into instances, and bg's. Not totally sure what to do to fix it, will try the suggestions toward the bottom of the page.

Yep, I've noticed this too. Last night Whilst farming the headless horseman I froze on teo seperate occasions. I've noticed that if my cursor is hovering over the pumpkin as someone else summons, then it freezes.
Every new instance in each session is taking an age to load too. I thought it was my pc, as i've just lost 2gig of ram (now running at only 2gig) but i'm kinda encouraged to hear it's a common issue.

I crash every time I "touch" a flag in any BG, today it happened again in AV, not going for the flag anytime soon anymore.

It's funny you mention this, because I was having a similar thing happen today while going for the Dinner Impossible achievement, where every time I put down a great feast I'd lock up shortly after (though it happened once without the feast)

I just started having this problem with the headless horsemen. But only on one my my characters, everyone else can do it just fine.
