It was just stated not 30 seconds ago that with the advent of WotLK, players will no longer be dismounted when entering water outdoors. Your mounts will now swim! Stay tuned for my articles this afternoon!

Oh snap D:

Now... do they still have movement speed bonus or are they the same speed as normal swimming?

That's great! I always hate it when I misjudge a stream or swamp and lose my damn mount. Nice one!

I take it they'll still swim at a terrible slow rate? Or will there be a 100% increase of your normal swimming speed?

Sweet.

There are so many streams, rivers and ponds that you try to jump but fall short and de-mount, if only it is a step away.

This is a welcome change.

I love this change. I have no idea how many times I have dismounted because I ran across a puddle.
ok maybe it was bigger then a puddle, and deeper...but I still got dismounted

It's great, and when you think about it, Northrend is like... a pile of snow. When snow melts, certainly there will be a lot of water there!

When global warming kicks in, we need to make sure all the world's mounts can swim!

LOL - but will my druid's swimming form now be able to move across land? ;-)

More importantly, will magic carpets be able to swim or will they just get wet?

I'm personally envisioning some sort of "trunk" opening up, and a speedboat motor popping out.
