Hello all,

I've recently started playing WoW again and upgraded some of my UI tools. Everything was working fine until recently, I've been getting this error:

Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library:

Then it lists the directory ".../wow.exe"

R6002
-floating point support not loaded.

From what I've read this is most commonly caused by a virus, so i ran my anti spyware AND antivirus programs, got rid of a few things, and it still doesn't work.

THEN i tried downloading the repair utility from the official site, it runs and resets and checks all the files, and it still doesn't work.

Anyone have any ideas on what could cause this?

you may have downloaded a virus/keylogger with your addons. I would be careful as when that happens it is not uncommon to come back to a naked character and an empty bank. I would change your password asap after you are sure that all of the infected directories are clean.

Orrrrrr

It could be that your C++ Runtme Library is not updated. "C++" and "floating point" sets off huge bells in my head, since "floating point" is a way to represent numbers in binary form in standard form (think scientific notation).

So my suggestion is to update that Runtime Library and see if it changes anything.

Which anti-virus are you using? I did read of someone fixing this who was using AVG, and Blizz recommended Sophos on the tech support forums. There are also a couple of online scanners, like the one from Bitdefender (run from IE) and Panda Security. It doesn't hurt to scan with more than one product when you suspect a problem.

The error means, that who ever programmed your keylogger/virus declared a float value but did not link the float library at compile time. I strongly think that it is not a WoW thing rather something that is executing when WoW starts up.
