Ok so last night, I did the Cluck quest and got myself a praire chicken as a pet. I have a few questions. Are these pets just for show, or do they contribute anything to my character, like attacking or giving me a boost or what.

Also what other small pets can I get. I saw someone walking around with a panda. I like my chicken but checked WoW's website and saw a worg that would be pretty cool to have or even one of the wyrmlings would be awesome.

The thing is I can't find out how to get any of them from this site, if anyone could tell me how to get some it would be great. Of course I realize that the pets I am able to obtain would be severely limited to the fact that I am only level 18, but that's ok. I would still like to know how to get them for when I am able to actually get them.

The little pets are just for show.

Some of them, like the Panda, can only be gotten by people who bought the original Collector's Edition of the game (and there is one for the CE of Burning Crusade as well).

Some of them can be bought from venders such as the cats from Stormwind and the snakes from Orgrimmar.

Some of them are dropped as loot in the game and are a little more rare.

There are a couple that are gotten from quests such as your chicken.

I know I saw a website somewhere that had most of the small pets listed and how to find them but I don't remember it offhand. You could try Google.

Here is a list of non-combat pets available in WoW, written in Allakhazam.

I love my Panda Cub. Took it on every single char I got. Get so much remarks on how cute it is. Zergling/Diablo? Ugh, so not fitting into the game.

But I get a lot of questions about where I got it, and then when I say Collector's Edition, they keep on asking me where that is or how they can get one, and some just don't understand how they can't get one themselves.

The list is incomplete. Doesn't include the Murky pets, which require a key that was handed out on Blizzcon, as well as the pets that were available during a seasonal quest. I got Speedy on all my higher level characters, but he really ain't doing anything but collecting dust in my banks.
