New to WoW, playing multi characters on LAN?Follow

#1 Dec 10 2006 at 7:00 PM Rating: Decent
My girlfriend and I are considering throwing away our freetime and joining WoW. However I need to know if we can both play at once. I have a LAN setup at home, but some games dont allow two people online through these. Will it work with WoW? I use Roadrunner cable and a wireless router.

Also, will we need to copies of the game or can one retail CD create different accounts?

Thanks for assistance all,

It will work, several people in my guild atm play from the same house (husband and wife) and I know of many others who do too. So if it doesn't work something is most likely wrong on your end.

You'll need 2 copies of the CD per player.

If you're asking can you play WoW over a LAN, yes and No. You have to have interenet connection, so if both computers can get at the internet you're fine, if you mean could you play WoW on 2 computers connected to each other but without internet, then no.

EDIT: Beaten to the punch. :/

I was inquiring to the first scenario, I have multiple PCs online via a LAN, just didnt know if it would allow online play through all of them.

Thanks for the info,

Thanks for the info,

We have 3 computer connected simultaneously. However, that means three accounts, since only one person can be logged into an account at one time. Each account needs a new CD key, so you will have to buy your girfriend the game (or she can buy it for you). Once each of you has an account, playing together is easy. Luckilly, the price of WoW is cheap right now, because the expansion is coming out in one month.
