Everything scales up. By the time you hit level 70, quest rewards and mob drops are going to be more than a level 60 can farm now. There are new high level herbs and minerals to be found, and new items to be crafted. It will be interesting to see the AH as higher level items begin to appear. I have heard that there are new dungeons for lvl 70 which you wont be able to reach without a flying mount or a summon. So yes, it seems like a lot, but I would spend that for a flying mount.

The ones that you have to fly to get into the portal, people can't be summoned to. No mount, no Dungeon.

No. Neither do Paladins.

I don't think a flying mount will be very useful until they patch kalimidor and eastern kingdom to support them. As of right now the gold you spend on that will only be used in the outlands.

It will take a long time if ever to get it so that flying mounts can be used in kalimdor and easter kingdoms. I don't remember where i read it but the reason for not using them is the graphis used to make the citys and scenery.

exactly. They also didn't make every place available to be flown to/reached in those places so they would also have to code that. So basically, it won't happen, if ever, any time soon.

So what? There are tons of quests in the outlands, and getting to them quicker is a good thing. On the other hand, if you never expect to reach the level necessary to get a flying mount it would be as you say, a worthless endevour. My advise to you is this: With your attitude, don't purchase Burning Crusade, since the Outlands are worthless, you shouldn't go there.

Outlands is just as big as either continent from what I've seen. And yeah, not having a flying mount is going to limit what you can get to in outland.

yes indeed... if you look in the world map of eastern kingdoms and kalimdor and right-clicked you will find yourself looking at the new "world map"... with outlands "as big as" EK and KD. so flying mounts when you are 60+ should be ok... anyways the current players with more than 4000g are being banned by stupid blizz admins w/o reason (got 2 friends who farms manually permanantly banned).

That's a pretty easy statement to make, but I'm seriously in doubt that is the full story. Blizzard isn't going to go around banning their most dedicated and addicted players. There are probably quite a few players that are at the Naxx raiding level that have thousands of gold. Crap there are certain items alone that sell for 1200g+.

Anyway, in regards to the epic mount question. Sure, I definitely plan on purchasing one. It's the next logical step after the regular flying mount. No one will *have* to have the epic mount just like no one *has* to have the regular epic mount. So for ~800g you'll be able to get anywhere you need in Outlands.

Druids will get flying form with skill to ride normal flying mount for free (well only for normal spell purchase of few gold). We win!

But I know there are few people in my guild with 4k+ gold now. And I know one person in my guild had 5 epic mounts purchased when they were for 900g not just the skill to ride them. By increased gold income in TBC I don't see any problem to farm gold for regular flying mount within week or two.

Do warlocks and paladins get the epic (non-flying) riding skill when they complete their mount quests now? I only have minimal knowledge of the pally quest, but the "free" epic mount is nowhere near free due to the expenses associated with the quest chain. It seems like it would be unfair to have these classes pay for the quest line once AND the riding skill.

Yes, upon completion of the quest they get their riding skill free.

Also note that you need a flying mount to reach certain spots on the Outlands, so you need it for some content (except for druids, who have a flight form, however, they get flying mount proficiency for nearly free, so getting a flying mount is a breeze to them).

The epic version however, doesn't give any extra content, so there's no real rush to get it. Some people rather save their 5k gold on something else. I doubt I'll be getting my epic flying mount.

I believe it's been said elsewhere that the non-epic flying mounts will be cheaper than normal epic mounts. Can't remember where I got it from tho. And wiki seems to agree.
