&*%^^%%&$ my battlegroup sucks at AVFollow

GAH! I have been 0 for 16 so far in AV and I need 34 more losses to go somewhere that I get honor in to get pvp gear. Every game nobody's on D, they all charge SP and get hung up at the choke point instead of going over the hill or under the bridge. EVERY GAME! Attempts to strategize are answered with lols if anything, and as soon as alliance takes FW everybody gives up and tries to lose. How do you do it? How do you play in a 40-man game where at least 25 of them don't care? I'll stealth to the aid station and cap it solo, hold it off for as long as I can until they bring back 10 people to make sure I stay down (it's 1, 2, 10 usually, not that spectacular at survival), and by the time I die my team's in the exact same spot. With the sheer power people can put out there's no chance for one person to mount an effective defense, I die, GY capped and Drek's dead in under two minutes of them crossing the towers line.

I need the gear. There's not much tanking gear out there for druids and I need the warlord's helm and the gloves for the set bonus. Do I just get to spend 18 more hours watching people act like they're cool and trying not to go shoot myself, or is there some secret AV where all the competent people go? How do I get in? I'll take any entry test required, but the next guy who complains about the Horde always losing when he did nothing to try and stop it, I feel like I'm gonna hunt them down and stomp on them until they learn how to protect themselves.

*gasp* *gasp* WSG and AB, a few idiots don't hurt much if everyone else is good, but AV's turned into a sheer numbers zerg and I don't know how to stop it. C'mon, you Illidan guys are in the same group, what do you do?

The problem the past few days seems to be that the better guilds on our server were running organized AVs where they were winning in ~6 minutes each (rush Aid Station, kite marshalls, kill general) and the random idiot PUGs who got into the games though that this was a brilliant strategy to use in a group where you don't have 35 people in deep Naxx gear/organization/vent.

When we do guild AVs (usually <20 people in an AV) we typicially defend Galv and break their advance there while taking Snowfall from behind. Lock them up, stall them, then crush their offense and beat them to pulp. *shrug* It works great in PUGs too - can forget Snowfall if you choose, just send ~10 to help defend Galv and let them beat against it until they give up. Alliance in our battlegroup always use the same strategy, and if you defeat them at Galv they kind of wander around confused until we win.

I'm in the same battlegroup (cho'gall).

It's extremely frustrating playing as horde in AV, it really is. Sometimes I think a more unorthodox plan is needed. Like taking SF to push the Ally back. Sure it slows the game down, but it turns into less of a race. I don't know, just a thought.

On an unrelated note - what characters do you guys usually PvP on? I know I've seen Khazam around in the past (y helo thar, Alla) and I'm almost always on Nomepunter, but who do you play? I'll look for you around in my random games.

I usually run on Beohrn. If you're in a game with me you'll probably notice because I like to try and goad people into playing well, then lose my temper. I'm the guy who always tries to convince people that "5 at a node, hold these 3" is NOT a good idea because you let the alliance pick the fights and they can play you like a fiddle.

I've probably run across other Zam guys before but no names I recognized except one spelled along the lines of Bhoddisttava (may have forgotten some doubled letters) who id probably one of Bhodi's guys.

If you end up with me, I'm a competent guy, usually do pvp tanking (they love to attack druids) as opposed to healing/support, though post-patch with damage increases I may need to rethink that.

You know, as much as I hate to say it. AV is the *only* game Aliiance have a shot to win. Please don't take that from us too! []

When you need 40 AV tokens for a HWL Weapon that arguement holds no water i'm afraid. WSG is about as even as you can get it, i really don't see why they didn't make the HWL weapons need WSG tokens instead.
