Noob Needs Help About MountsFollow

#1 Dec 08 2006 at 8:48 AM Rating: Decent
Can someone please tell me how it takes to save up for a lvl 40 mount, and whether it is worth it. Also, any advice concerning anthing is very welcome.

Yes the mount is worth it.

The only advice i can give as to how to get the money.....

Get some combination of mining, skinning or herbalism and sell all your stuff to the AH for money.

I hope I am not hijacking this thread. If so, sorry. Does the race or class of your character determine what kind of mount you can get? I am playing NE warrior and currently level 34. Thanks.

Each race is bound to a particular mount.

The only way to get other mounts from the other races is to get exalted reputation with said races (within your faction)

Human = horse
Dwarf = ram
Gnome = Mechanostrider
Nightelf = Nightsaber

Tauren = Kodo
Orc = wolf
troll = raptor
undead = undead horse

Thanks for the above post. I am glad I am not getting one of those ugly sheep for my mount. That was my primary concern.

Mounts become your bestest friends in the game lol...they make the walking quests and stuff a whole lot faster.

I think kodos should be able to get the mechanostrider...kill a gnome and it drops :p

What use would a kodo have for a mechanostrider?

Smiley: yikes

Nevermind...don't answer that question. I'm sure I don't want to know.

Poldaran came really close to making me literally LoL here at work. :P

As to the saving up for a mount question, I started looking towards a mount at about level 30 and had saved up the gold for it by around level 35. I got most of my gold from fishing, mining and killing stuff that tends to drop good vender trash which means that I was taking time away from actively trying to level. I also put just about anything that wasn't gray that I got while farming or questing into the AH. Now I try to spend a couple of hours each week on activities strictly meant to make gold instead of experience and that seems to work for me.
