Expansion QuestionFollow

My original WoW installation is the EU version, but I will be in the US when the expansion comes out. Does anyone know if there is a problem with installing the US expansion onto an original EU version?

You need to ask this on the Tech Support o-forum. If you get an answer, it probably would be a "nice to know" thing, so report back if you do.

When you initially create your account, when you fill out where you live, it takes that info and through this info it will give you your appropriate realm. So if your address is in the UK, you get the EU servers. If you live in the US you get the US servers, and so on. When you upgrade your current account with BC it will probably keep you in the EU realm.

Either way you look at it, you will have to start over fresh with your characters, unless you pay to transfer them. I'm not sure if they would do that or not.

Also, they may not let you do this and will make you buy another copy of WoW, so who knows. The only way to find out is to ask I guess.

**Note** This is all speculation and not concrete info. I've seen similar questions on these forums and the info I just gave was the info I got from those other threads

Thanks for the input. I should have clarified that I will be returning to the UK but not for a while after the release, so in the end I will want to stay on EU servers. My main concern is whether or not there is likely to be problems between the versions of the game. My copy of World of Warcraft is the EU version, but my copy of The Burning Crusade may come from the US. I wondered if there was a conflict between installing a US copy of TBC on an EU copy of WoW.

Here's my guess. SInce Blizz has said thet there will only be one client, all you will need to do is update your account by entering the CD Key. That should flag your account as "Burning Crusade", without changing anything else.

NOTE: THE ABOVE IS ONLY A GUESS. FOR THE REAL ANSWER, GO TO BLIZZ TECH SUPPORT.
