Hey. What's up everybody? Name's Mookie. I'm new to the community, haven't purchased but am planing to join WoW, and just want to introduce myself and say hey. I have a question though: In your opinion, are the new races (and Jewelmaking, or whatever its called) in the Burning Crusade going to be worth me waiting for it's release to start a new character?

I am happy to be joining WoW and welcome all guild invitations.

Thanks,
MookieX (eathr@hotmail.com)

Don't wait, run to the store and buy it tonight. Don't wait any longer or you'll be sorry.

Really, BC will be nice but WoW has a ton to offer without waiting on an expansion you'd have to buy separately anyway.

Welcome

Welcome to the site! I know your gonna have fun, because I have!

First off, yes I think it would be worth buying TBC (I think thats your question) and getting a character, of course you don't need TBC to be able to play with people who do have it. Jewelcrafting will be cool, but I believe it will be like encahnting, costly and won't make money until to late 200's. Also, which server are you on?

Hoped it helped a little.

Honestly since right now the game isnt as flooded as it will be once the expansion starts you would be best buying it now and starting a character as soon as possible.

Once the expansion comes out there are gonna be TONS of people re-rolling the new characters, blood elves and drainei, and it will be terribly hard for a new person to quest in those areas. I would recommend making another race, undeads and trolls are always nice (Of course im bias).

As far as professions, jewelcrafting sounds nice, but once again when the expansion comes out there will be TONS of people switching over to that flooding the market.

You would be best picking something from the current lists, remind you they are all good.

Hi there and welcome.

My opinion on this is that it would probably be beneficial for you to play a bit on the game pre-expansion and learn a bit about how to play so that when TBC comes out you have a better grasp on a) the basic gameplay functionality of the game and b) what classes you like or equally as important you don't like. This will likely greatly increase your enjoyment of the expansion.

I think if you get your feet wet so to say before, when the expansion comes out you'll be in a better position to jump into TBC and push forward with your toon.

As for the new races, not having played the beta test I can't give you real world feedback. I know I'm definitely interested in the new races but I think I'm going to avoid the new starting areas for a while as I think there are going to be a LOT of people there and they'll all be competing for the quests, mini bosses and mats... For anyone who's been on the game for a while, think of a time when the servers are all down but there are one or two that have come up.. the start-up areas are just insane with all the players waiting for their servers to come online.

I wish you luck and just start playing and have fun but beware, it's addictive!

While I agree that Buying WoW now is a good idea, I'm not so certain that you'll need standard WoW in order to buy Burning Crusade.

Stop and Think. What will be included on the TBC disk(s)? The WoW client, right? Blizz has already stated that they will have only one WoW client, and the account (on their servers) will determine whether you are cleared for the Burning Crusade content. If Blizz does not include the client in TBC, then what do they put on the disk? Nothing? I seriously don't think that Blizz will put blank disks in a package that only has a CD key.

You need to upgrade your WoW copy to TBC, you can't create a TBC account. So yes, you need WoW to play TBC.

As for waiting for TBC, don't. There's 2 new races and start locations, that are new to most of us, but the 8 races and 6 start locations that are so common to us by now are as new and shiny as the new ones to you, so for you it basically doesn't make a difference. Believe me, if you start now, a little before TBC, those people that reroll @ TBC will catch up to you, and then you got a good chance of being the only nonDraenei or nonBloodelf in the party, making you set out, instead of them ;)

As for Jewelcrafting, same as for races. Just another profession. You can always switch to Jewecrafting later on if you really want to.

Thanks for the input. As far as servers go, I have not bought WoW yet, so I'm not on one, but I am open to server suggestions. I plan on playing on a non-pvp, non-RP server. And I still welcome guild suggestions.

Come to Duskwood. Join the Dancing Barbarians - we'll give you a guild tabard in lieu of a tutu.
