Positives of Patch please!Follow

#1 Dec 07 2006 at 12:16 PM Rating: Excellent
Hey fellow WoWers, Deathshroud from Kil'Jaeden. As some of you may be, I am very tired of all the patch bashing. So I would like to start a topic listing the things that you like ONLY, nothing else. This way we can possibly find some other positive things we haven't noticed yet!

1. Enchanting rods combined to make 1 rod... woot 4 more places opened up in my bank.
2. More Bank Bag slots!
3. Drop down menus under character screen showing melee vs ranged stats.
4. Reimbursed talents. Woot I can respec for free!
5. BGs have been down, this means lots of horde running around looking for some pvp action which I am more then willing to give them!

list some more and let the positives roll!

I can easily say im one of the few, that did not even look at the new talents, and I will be a first time new comer to them the second i get the patch downloaded and installed.

Will my hunter be marksmen? Or survival? I hope to stay survival, but from what I hear for DPS you gotta go marksmen?

Or my purdy resto shaman, what fancy new skills is she gonna have? I dont know! I cant wait to find out. And if you turds ruin it for me im gonna be highly upset.

2. More Bank Bag slots!

Really? Yay!!!

I gotta say, those two upgrades alone make it a pretty darn WONDERFUL patch.

So far I like the new talents on my hunter, mage and warrior.

The drop down stat menus are cool.

The new hunter's mark is nice. Also their trap laying abilities are better.

The background loading screens are a nice change.

Not only more bank slots but CHEAP bank bag slots; the price is now capped at 25g! Buy them all!

New talents have renewed the faltering server population somewhat as people at least logon to PVP; it gives people who are not raiding a means to still get some quality gear before the expansion hits.

The arenas will also be nice when they finally get implemented

For me it was nice to re-spend my talent points coz I spent them on rubbish when I was a n00b. Smiley: banghead

I love the new summoning stones near instances, that was a great idea. Oh, and you can't forget the 41 point talents. ...Many more classes get summoned pets, paladins have gone more into tanking. Way too many good things to state. ('cept for in patch notes)

Resecing FREE was nice even though I went the same way I was before.
However the new talents (witch I haven't got yet) look very nice.
More bank slots? I was on for like 2 hours after the patch then had to go to work untell Fri. So this is news to me "SWEET"
I'm still looking forward to trying the the BG's as well as other pvp.
Not sure about the new pvp reward system haven't realy had much time to figure it out.
I love the new looking for group system and TP stones. But I wasn't very happy about autojoining on looking for more I like to try and weed out the goof balls, sabatures, and ego's as much as I can.

1) Feral talent improvments. Beyond good and I'm feeling the furry tank love.

2) More banks slots, and the price-cap of 25g! I was >< this close to paying 100g for that last slot.

3) The enchanting rods! Although I didn't trust tossing them until I confirmed for myself. (Tossed away the copper rod and made a wand. Woot! Confirmed!)

4) Now having 25, yes, twenty-FIVE quests in the log! Considering 15 of my 20 are raid/instance quests that take luck and/or commitment to do I've been choking for space of late.

5) Did I mention the feral talent improvements? ;)

Try to be one of the few who will sell their weaker rods to new enchanters, before the overflooding of the market begins.

The new honor system just re-awoke interest in pvp for me. Now its a casual's dream! 850 /22500 honor and 18/20 AB badges for my HW 1hand sword on my rogue.

Lots and lots of goodness all over. I can not think of one negative thing to say about the patch (ignoring the downtime ofc). Yay!

- New auto-loot option. No more shift-clicking to auto-loot!
- Auto-spell level. When you cast a buff on a low-level palyer, it changes the buff to the right rank and cast it on him. No more 9 slot on action bars with same spell with diff. ranks (well, I think noone did that, but..)
- When you train a higher rank skill/spell, it replaces the lower rank on action bar for you
- New spells/skills ranks at trainer, so you don't need anymore get those bloody rare books at AQ to learn the last ranks for several spells/skills
- Pets now gain stamina/int bonus from player's scores. My VW gained about 50% more HP/Mana, based on my attributes
- Now when you're dead, you keep the HP/Mana bonus from equips, so no more being rez at BGs with low HP/Mana
- When you die at BGs, you won't be transfered instantly to the rezzer. You'll stay dead on the floor until you choose to be transfered to the rezzer or someone takes you insignea. That's good for AV, when you die and your side hasn't capped any GY near.

Much, much more! I don't remember right now, but several small changes that makes me happy!

Actually, it was always like that. You probably had an addon running that auto-released in BG's like Titan Panel [Honor].

But yeah, bank slots! 4 more in the bank, 5th and 6th only costing 25g and a 7th for 25g as well. They're worth buying now, giving me 46 extra slots :O

Shadow Priests are a valuable addition to raids!! Our DPS is increased, our mana regen is through the roof, we give +5%dmg to all casters in the raid, and we mana regen our whole group. Especially paladins, since both our VE and our VT regenerates their mana. As the leet kids say, IMBA!1"£$%

Of course the new honour system rocks for casuals. All those amazing items that are now attainable... /drool

Stackable HoT's are quite amazing too. Renews that hit for 600, adn stack with the druid's HoTs make life a lot easier.

I've rarely been happier after a patch...

Through the talent Misery! It adds 5% dmg to all dmg spells to everyone in the raid.

I am sooo glad we have a couple shadow priests running now.

And I thought it was nice with the buffs on the ZG raid last night... That's gonna be like 50 extra damage on my spells. Smiley: yikes

So much damage. So much love.

Yeah, you should know that by being one of Allakhazam's regulars you're likely more well informed than a good half or more of the game's players. You'd be surprised how many times I have had to explain to people in /g or IF General why it is that they can't Heroic Instance SM or VC.

Some rep seems to have changed...
I ran to the lower Deadwood camp in Felwood to get some quick rep and feathers and noticed that I was only getting 1 rep per kill(at level 60 and friendly) and the feathers took awhile to get just 5. But when I turned them in I got 75 rep instead of 50. So I went north, and those Deadwood still give 5 points per kill and again, 75 for 5 feathers! Looking forward to trying out the Winterspring ones.

And...my human mage on the new server is going for Darnassus rep and we have the War effort going on. I had been getting 83rep/10 tokens to the Darn guy-but when I turned them in yesterday I got 165!! I am already at 4k/21k to exalted and only level 46!

So far, I am very pleased with this patch...so much so I cannot decide which of my toons to play, I want to play them all!!

I've explored Caverns of Time, checked out the new entrances to the new zones(pretty new boat and the new portal in EPL). I love auto-loot! I never really used it before, but did it always work with herbs, mines, fishing and chests? Because it does and it makes those things SO much easier! Herbing is like a snatch and go...as soon as the herb is picked I am loading my horse up and riding to the next one. And with keybinding my fish skill to the - on the number pad, I can fish with one hand and eat with the other(hehe).

Theres really nothing in the patch I don't like. I don't really like my spec but that was a choice not because there weren't other possibilities open to me.

1) Hunter changes! The sky didn't fall. Not sure about other specs, but my own dps (7/41/3, no silencing shot) went up quite a bit. Mana efficiency of new stuff went out the window, but I can spam Arcane Shot Rank 1 for 22 mana for 350ish damage (every 6sec) between FD+drink and regen some up. It feels weird not to twist Aimed and Multi, but overall it's nice.

2) I saw someone mention this in general, but other said it was them, but the game seems a little more vibrant. Color-wise. Could also be my imagination, but I like it :p

3) More bank slots is yummy, especially now that Feen has all his bank slots he had pre-patch (I was one of the few that lost bank slots due to whatever bug happened)

4) 22 DPS ammo. A godsend. At roughly 14s a stack, it's so much nicer than the Ice-Threaded or even Thorium. Going to hurt some engineers though (most thorium bullets/arrows sold for 75s-1g per stack, for 17.5dps)

5) Dithers is a healing monster now. +555 healing in normal gear without MotW (the spirit from that will add to his +heal a bit as well). Contemplating going shadow...but will have to wait and see.

6) New CT_BuffMod. God that thing is sexy. (The CT_Mod in general is quite nice now, and much smaller than before. The unit frames still suck imo though).

I like it that when I PVP, I can go into interface (diplay) and turn on a display that lets me see what and how long of a spell the enemy is casting!!! Earth shock is even that much better on my shaman now.
I am very excited that the EPIX in BG is now going to be attainable! I can't wait to DW some badass maces (maybe skill up and get the axes)! We can now go into the champions hall and see the BG epics without having to be a certian rank.

Where do you get the new ammo? I forgot about that part of the patch and haven't been searching for it.
