A tale of two computers and WOW crashingFollow

I have two computers, one runs WOW perfectly and the other has a problem I will describe below. I am wondering if anyone has insight about what is wrong. I have gone through all the Blizzard trouble shooting tips, done updates on Windows, drivers, and my bios. Still have the problem....

When I log in my existing characters sitting in Org, the process partially succeeds and then after a short time I get booted from the game with "Disconnected from server." Typically, things materialize slowly, half the toons around me have "unknown" instead of names, and I can't interact with the mailbox or auctioneer or any mob.

It appears that I am lagging so bad that I get dropped from the game. I have a minor character in Brill who has the same result, and I think another character in Ratchet that actually can log in. If I start a brand new character, everything works okay. I have had disconnect problems before, but after the 2.0.1 patch I cannot successfully log in at all.

My computer is very good in every respect (dual core Athlon 64, Abit fatal1ty motherboard, sata drive, 1 gig memory, DSL) except that it is using a 64 Meg PCI video card (but it was handling the graphics fine). I am wondering if there is some bottleneck in my computer that I am missing but someone else identified and can enlighten me about. Thanks in advance for good advice!

Well - a couple suggestions...
I run 4 networked PC's at home and 3 run WoW..
I had to force one PC to 100mbit Half Duplex for it to run WoW well... before that it would have 400-500 latency Vs the other pc's running around 86.
Then I upgraded all pc's to gigabit, and they all run wow nicely.
Even bring down your network card to 10Mbit half - just to see.

Another thing.. do you have software firewall on the slow PC? try disabling it for testing.
Anti-virus? Same thing - disable for testing.

I know my network card was the problem with my one PC.

I'm sorry but 64meg PCI? Not going there.

Maybe when Blizzard updated their code, they update a bit of graphics here and there which make your vid card not able to handle it anymore? One thing to test is take out the vid card from the first comp and put it in the 2nd one, if everything works fine then congratulation, you found the problem.
