Hi Guys,

Well, I normally do this sort of thing at work after updates and such, so I'll see how this holds here.

What do you all think of the patch update?

For me, I'm still sitting in IF wondering what my talent build should be now, so I've only played around with the new UI. The LFG looks great and I hope that it will play out nicely with the game from now on.

Thoughts?

Well I hate to repost something I already posted in another thread...but this new thread seems to fir what I wrote better!

Everyone should be sure to run down to Caverns of Time! Of course the instances are not available yet, but the four dragons have been moved to the sides and you can enter and see the sights. There are even vendors in there selling the level 60 water and cheese!

Oh and yeah, my druid didn't get the pounce fix, oh well. Ferocious Bite Rank 5 was trainable and I was shredding up some Satyrs in Azshara like never before! Although the new stealth animation is a little silly. And OoC lasting 30 minutes, very nice.

I'd say overall I am quite pleased with this patch!! Now if I could find a replacement for Autodecline...

edited to add: that I am thrilled!! with the extra bank slots and the enchanting rod taking the place of all the old ones! My druid actually has empty slots for a change!

now not to complain, but burning legion is down since too long and blizzard isn't even updating the login screen, it still says 'burning legion will be back at 7 pm'
SIGH

that said, I hope I can put my hands on it asap!

All the hardwork to get my pvp honour score has gone! so this is what i have been paying for.... lot's of hard work for nothing, this suck's. at least what they should have done is all the honour points what we had should have been carried on so we can spend them.

I am very, very pleased with this patch. Dare I say this is perhaps the best one yet? (closest is the cross realm battlegrounds IMHO). I just sat in my chair and drooled at all of the epics I could purchase with honor and marks in the Hall of Legends in Orgrimmar.

your not on your own by the way, earthan ring crashed withing minutes of the patch being released, it is back on now but i can't log in. it keep's coming up with "error finding characters" (very worrying) at least you have a message telling you there is a problem. :)

Honor PvP rewards
I'm a little frustrated in that with the removal of ranks, and moving honor points to currency, it makes it harder to get several pieces of high-rank gear at the same time. Whereas before once I hit a certain rank, all items of that level became available, now if I use up most of my honor points buying one item, then that's it. I have to start all over for item #2.

I'm also not a big fan of the rewards requiring medals from specific BGs. I love AV and cannot stand WSG, but the items I want require x20 WSG medals each. On the plus side, this will force players into WSG and AB, and hopefully the alliance players on my server will improve, myself included. So, I'm neutral on this point.

Honor as currency, not gold
Despite the frustration I mentioned above, I do like how honor points and medals are the new currency for rank PvP gear instead of gold. At 60, I decided to take a break from questing and to focus on PvP. This meant that my gold income drastically slowed, while my expenses went up from the rewards I was buying. So, I like the fact that for someone who spends a lot of time in BGs, they can still get the gear from the time and effort they spend in BGs, instead of having to go out and farm gold to get their rewards. (I think faction rewards like those from Stormpike Guards are still bought with gold however... can someone confirm?)

XP Bar returns at 60
I don't like this. I liked it when the XP bar was removed when I hit 60, and I just had my reputation bar on the bottom, since that was now my main focus after hitting 60. I don't display numbers on my UI at all times, so I liked that when I hit 'C', I could see the exact number of rep I had, since it was the main bar. Now, with the XP bar back, hitting 'C' only shows the XP number, not the rep number. And being the OCD that I am, if the XP bar is empty, I want to fill it, subconsciously I guess. So it's frustrating that for now it'll remain as dead space.

Blizzard released the wrong patch build with the right patch notes. Or the other way around.

Most classes received the PTR talent trees that were changed a month ago to the current Burning Crusade beta talents. Yup, Paladins are getting the 6 second Crusader Strike and the 15% Vengeance talent. Druids are getting the bugged out PTR talent trees despite Drysc promising something else.

They won't fix it until the expansion is released.. some five weeks from now. I can imagine the uproar it will cause when they change Crusader Strike to 10 seconds and Vengeance to 10%.

Blizzard sure know how to pick their fights.

The European servers are acting up like usual. I haven't been able to get past the "Retrieving Character List" screen except on a server where my characters are below level 20.

I'm waiting for my main server to get up and then I'll go to bed.

Why, oh, why didn't I start Medieval II: Total War again?

in the grand scheme of things i like the new patch over all. what little things i do not like are of no major matter so meh on them.

the loss of some of my UI mods is something i can deal with.

the new look and feel of things is nice, what little i played with the LFG/LFM tool looks promising, still confused if you need 2 people to summon or if just 1 is needed at a meeting stone via the LFG/LFM tool. would be GREAT if it is only one, but from what i can cypher out of the patch notes it still takes 2.

getting to reset my talents at only 39 was not a big deal, but i did goof and picked 2 points in something i was wanting to hold off on for a bit, but meh, i can get the other 2 talents in the next 2 levels and it is not going to break my little warrior.

the only complaint i am hearing form people is A. everyone is nekkid, B. my mods dont work.

well the B. is something you knew about, or had the chance to know about, big deal again. even if you forgot like i did, it is still not that huge of a deal.

A. i have no clue what is causing that and to be blunt, who cares.

Try not to think of it as being forced to wait for the second item - think of it as being able to get that first item early.

Logged on my Warrior, took three points in Tactical Mastery. Changed stance, lost all my rage. What a waste.

Logged on my Shaman, took dual wield. Windfury sucks (40-200 damage when it procs, depending on which weapon procs). Frostbrand still sucks (132 damage when it procs), but Flametongue...

Oh.. my.. god!

54 damage on each proc (every hit) and it doesn't matter if it's the off-hand or the main-hand. Rockbiter blows (12-75 damage on each attack, depending on weapon again).

Also, the zoom effect on Far Sight doesn't seem to work. I haven't tested Eagle Eyes yet.

I tried to do a silithus summon last night, had all my gear on and clicked on the appropriate stone and still got zapped. Some of the other bugs are annoying too.

But I think when everything settles I will be satisfied with 2.0

woah, ouch, i have not hunted or killed with my warrior yet so is the TM fubar? i hope that is fixed soon as i put 1 point in it just for that 5 points so i can still get something off or not have to re-build as much hate before i sunder. duh.

My new warrior experience is great, TM actually not working, its not a biggie as it will be hotfixed, but the fact, that going in 43 points deep in Arms, and SEE NO CHANGE in my gameplay is quite irritating, nothing chanegd except the fact that I have +1 debuff on the target. compeltly unnoticeable passive changes are exciting.
Didnt even bother to go into my other warr, instead gone to try out my druid, and the fact is...its fantastic!
Its lower lvl (45) so I couldnt try out the omfg mangle (been eharing good about it). But it still blows, im feral and the crit-healing is awesome!!
I can imagine what this can do with a warrior...it feels rather imba, as a lvl 45 kitty I heal myself nearly every 6 seconds for 130 damage.
nurturing instinct is also awesooome!
At this level I already get near +100 on my heals with it.
Altho sadly this is not really what the patch notes first said but its still awesome! (the cat and bear crit proccing talents didnt merge, bear + armor also isnt in)
But for the fact, druid are awesome, and this lowbie is my new main :)
Also we can see forests in are cities now with all the force of nature and tree of life forms in use :)

3 marks for each BG and you have yourself an Epic mount.

That HAS to be a mistake...

You lose three times in each nad you get rewarded with one of the best things in the game?

(And it is one of the best, by far the coolest looking mounts and they save you 1000 gold.)

<<<<<Confused.

Lots of stability issues on Euro servers tonight, but managed to do a partial 5-man UBRS run (cut short by a server restart). General feeling was that characters were stronger, it was a smooth clear although everybody was struggling a bit with lack of mods and the clunky default interface.

I quite liked the dropdown selections in the character screen for viewing various stats. A lot of talents don't get calculated so it's not a totally accurate view, but it's a step in the right direction.

It seems to have been a very good patch for the warlock class. Very favourable first impression (I only played for a short while in Winterspring though) and lots of complaints from the PvP crowd about 'locks.

Despite all the regular changes and pvp etc I find the smallest things the best

The bank slots !

7 - and slot 6 and 7 only cost me 25g ! - When faced last week with 100g for slot 6 which i almost bought - i was delighted :)

This is a major help for stacking of goods and items as I have found having more bank space helps you earn more gold as you gather various items

As a hunter as well

Wicked Arrows - well thats just wicked :)

Before I had the jaggeds which felt a bit weak at times - and of course thorium headed were a hassle and expensive enough to be reserved for instance runs

But now the wicked is here for good old all round extra oomph :)

:) Never saw a hint of these changes prior to the patch - so a nice surprise :)

It was my impression that with the recent mount changes you'd still need to buy your epic riding skill to use those. I could be mistaken tho.

Yeah, Blizz gave rogues the talent change we've been drooling over forever in the closed beta (switching the positions of improved slice-n-dice and improved backstab, which basically gives builds like mine 5 free talents. Also they switched improved sap and elusiveness and made improved sap 50/100% instead of 30/60/90), but they did not give them to us in this patch. It's something I can live with for a month, however. Rebuilding my UI is going to be tough.

It's 30 marks from each BG for the epic mounts, not 3...

If its 30 marks from each BG, you do STILL have to buy the Epic riding skill tho, yes?

It is more than possible that I misread the Epic Mount cost, but 30 is still nothing. From BGing today from 4:00 PM - 7:00 Pm, I have 13-17 WSG ones. So it would take less than a weak to get enough.

And so you only save 800 gold. Ripoff in my opinion /sarcasm.

In some ways I am happy with the changes, but in others-- Not so much.

I really wish I could still level through BGs...

That was such a treat, to go from 17~22, leveling to 19 then just having fun for a little while. Not I have to reserve 3 bag slots -.-;;

As if that Burning Blade Insignia wasn't irritating enough...
