Choosing the best classes for a three man teamFollow

#1 Dec 06 2006 at 12:06 AM Rating: Decent

My two brothers and I are considering buying WoW for Christmas, and so I am currently trying to pick up as much as I can about it. However, one area where I haven't been able to pick up much information is deciding which classes to pick up for a well balanced team. The three of us plan to only play together, so we don't need a "marketable" combination for other groups, but rather one that will be self sufficient and fun for all of us.

Most likely we are going to play on the alliance side, although we might try the horde if it looks like we can have a better group (and a better experience) by going horde. From what I've read so far, it seems to me that the ideal combination for the three of us would be.

1. Warrior
2. Priest
3. Mage

I know a warrior is essentially a must, but the other two are somewhat iffy. I have heard many argue that a Paladin is a better choice than the priest overall, and likewise I have heard that the warlock is more versatile than the mage and better for small groups. What would you suggest we choose for our three man team? Additonally, if you could suggest which one of the three classess you selected is *least* crucial to party success (or easiest to play), that would be great. One of my brothers is, uh, easily distracted, so we want to have him play the class that is least demanding. Thanks for your responses!

Is this guy your brother? If not, I'd say that thread is still relevant to you.

Wow, how did I miss seeing that post? Thanks for the reference, it more than adequately answers my questions.

- Shadow Priest

Bend over and take it.

-edit-
Excuse my poor reading, I thought this was about PvP teams. It's still nice though. I 3-manned Scholo in 90 minutes with two other demo locks on the PTR. We did every boss except Jandice.
