Re-embursed talent points?Follow

#1 Dec 05 2006 at 3:39 PM Rating: Decent
in the new patch, it talks about having talent points re-embursed? what do they mean by this?

im guessing its only for 60's, (when i was downloading the patch it made a statement about getting ready for level 70) but im still curious.

It means that since they made some changes to every class's talent trees, they are giving all of the points that we've placed into talents back to us so that we can rebuild our talent trees. This applies to everyone level 10 and up who have spent points on talents.

They made the talent changes in preparation for the expansion, but I believe we now have access to a few new talents that have been added for 60 and under.

From what I understand everyone will have all points given back to them for which to distribute once again. Pretend you just hit whatever level you are and never spent any points.

It's up to you to decide what talents are important to you. Since the top level talent in any tree takes 41 talent points to get, a lvl 50 or above could get the max talent for any one tree, then spend the remaining points how he likes.

I know that my question is not really what the OP was asking about. But a time-honored tradition is the hijacking of threads. :)

I know that the talent calculator at the world of warcraft website is not updated with the new abilities.

Does anyone know of a site where there IS a talent calculator that has the updated skills/abilities? If they do, might they share the link?

And is it true that decursive is now illegal? I didn't see anything about it in the patch notes that I read. Information on that would also be appreciated. ;)

Use the TBC talent calculator page until the other is updated:

I don't think decursive will be illegal, I believe that they are altering the script that allows it to work in the first place. I'm not 100% on this though. I do not recall seeing anything about this in the patch notes... is this change due for expansion, or today?

does the reset of talent points also reset the amount of times you re-specced?

For those that don't know, it gets more expensive each time you re-spec your talent tree. First time I re-specced, it cost 1g. Second time, 5g. etc.

Just wondering if this patch will make it so that the next time I have to re-spec, it'll be 1g.

No, it will simply be a one-time-free-specc-opportunity. It has been like this with previous patches, I doubt Blizzard will change it.

Yeah, they broke the code for most addons by changing it. I assume the main purpose is to deal with mods that nearly automate your group function, such as some current healing mods.

I believe I saw someone in the mage tower talking about a new macro you can make with simple commands that will perform decursive's functions.

Now, as to broken mods...

The bastids broke my CritMod! Smiley: motz

I really thought this was groovy. I have had char's that I've re-spec'd every 10 or so levels to just test things out and experiment. Now I got a free respec when I know what I'm doing.

Small question about talents re-embursing...:

What happens to the talents that require training to get to max level?

Will I be forced to pay my trainer lots of gold once gain, just to get back the talents I allready had??

BTW, it's: "reimbursed".

You will have to pay, but only a very small amount - considerably less than you originally spent learning them.

Regarding addons and illigality. Blizzard have stated time and time again that you will NEVER be banned or punished for useing addons that is run through the wow addon code. If someone came up with a way right now to reproduce the Decursive behaviour useing only the lua code and functions avalible to addons (no thirdparty program or external executable) Blizzard would not ban anyone for useing it.

I'm one of those people that speaks in complete sentences in WoW chat, uses punctation and capitalization.

For some reason, it seems to annoy people.
