Breaking News page at the login screen wrote:

The normally scheduled weekly maintenance will be extended an additional 4 hours from the previously announces time, and will now end at approximately 5:00 PM PST. This delay was caused by issues with the Before the Storm content patch. We are currently gathering more information on the delay and will post an update in approximately 60 minutes.


Just in case anybody was at work and couldn't log in.

Will be awhile before anybody is able to play today, D'oh!

The patch is massive. I am amazed that so many people freak out when a patch day gets pushed up a few hours. It sure beats logging in and playing for twenty minutes and then scream in horror when the server goes down for a few hours. I would rather have everything ready to go then get booted when things go awry.

Oh, I fully expect to be dc a couple of times over the next few days as they work the bugs out. That's to be expected with changes this big.

Ok, how long from RIGHT NOW, until the realms are back up? I don't understand this PST time, so I don't know what time I'm waiting to until the realms are back up!

Not knowing where you live, it's hard to say what time it will be for YOU personally. PST = Pacific Standard Time, so anyone who lives on the West Coast, which consists of California, washington, oregon, nevada, etc.

So if it's 5:00 PST, that means it's 6:00 MST, 7:00 CST, and 8:00 EST.

Find out what time zone you're on and you'd have a better chance of knowing.

Your post there was made at 2:24pm PST.

The servers are supposed to be back up at 5:00pm PST.

Therefore, you have to wait about 2 and a half hours from now until the time the servers are supposed to be back up.

QFT. You obviously are just a forum troll out for the hunting since the realms are down for awhile, and normally I would say "don't feed the trolls" but for you I think an exception can be made. Oh, and if you say something like "I already have, I don't play anymore" then you need to GTFO of these forums and stop spreading lies and such around, because no one cares. You quit, fine, people quit every day. Yet you still come here and troll the forums? Let me just say that I have a very low tolerence for people like that and you'll find that most others have an equally low (or lower) and will drive you (and if you're a sock and we find out your main too) off this forum.

Yeah - got home and immediately started the patch download and saw the new time estimate when I got done. Oh well - makes it easier for me to keep track of the patch download on my boyfriend's account on the other computer (he's at work tonight - lucky guy. LoL)

I guess dinner, TV and time to look at the talent trees to see where I want to go. :)

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!! You know, I'd rather them say it'd be ready to go at 12 midnight, and then be happily surprised when it was up at 7 instead, rather than them say it'll be up at 1, then no, it'll be up at 5, then, haha whoopsies our bad, it'll be up at 7! Who knows what's gonna happen at 7 but I have a feeling it's gonna be "Oh noes, extended to 10!"

grrr after putting up with this crap for 3 years from Square/Enix (FFXI) i had high hopes for Blizzard and my new life as a noob in WoW but i can see that mmorpg maintenance or BS as it is otherwise known is the same no matter who is running the show. damn free trial what was i thinking getting into this crap all over again lol

I am anxious to get in and play also; however, it doesnt bother me to have to wait a few hours more. You have to understand all the work there doing, and just chill and do something else.

If you really really can't wait...

I suggest you freeze yourself until it's time, as cartman did in a recent south park episode, waiting for the nintendo wii!!!

Not the waiting that bothers me. It's more of a 5minutes before they are supposed to be up "Hey! We're extending it 2 more hours!" I know you knew you had to extend it more than 5 minutes before it was supposed to be up :P Bah it's not worse than FFXI :)
