Back in the day, I used to love Dire Maul North. It was always my favorite 5man end-game instance.

I hadn't been there in a long time. I did one East run a while ago but that's it.

Today I went to run Tribute to help my friend.

What the hell did they do the aggro radius of those Ogres?

They were aggroing at about 25 yards! I couldn't get nearly close enough to Mind Control to pull (we didn't have a mage). They were aggroing at WAY further than normal mobs ...

I heard that it had something to do with a patch to stop people from stealth running/farming it.

They ruined a wonderful instance, IMO.

Well they did revamp the whole instance a while ago to deal with farmers (especially Hunters who sacrifice their pets in order to open chests in DM North).

In West you could play a Frogger-like game to the first boss. Just evade the horizontal patrolling tree's while moving foreward. Now the pulling first boss aggroes the whole room so you have to clear it. Not worth the time anymore IMO.Smiley: frown

Not sure what to tell you. I farm all the wings of DM with friends to get class books for guildies, and I've never seen a problem with using MC on the ogres in North. While I do agree that the agro range is much greater than it used to be, I've grouped with priests that like to play around with MC and do so successfully.

Either way, I don't really think it "ruins" the instance.

yeah, they changed DM north so as to fix the hunter issues and to keep people from blowing through it in under 30 minutes when done right. now you have to kill a few more pulls of ogres in addition to dealing with the larger aggro range (which isnt actually a "nerf" to the instance so much as it was a change they put in ages ago that didnt affect the DM ogres for some reason....it was later patched to work like it should).

as for MC....just make sure you mind soothe before you do it. i dont think it has a target limit anymore. that, or get a rogue to distract them facing away from you.
