There is a Race and Class page on the main site that can help you make your decision.

I like playing an orc hunter myself, but there are way too many hunters out there.

I've tried all the classes, and the Druid, Warlock and Hunter were my favorites, but a mage is pretty fun to play as well and get very deadly as they get higher in level.

Play some combination of each race and class to around level 12, and then decide from there.

Its not too hard to level a job to 10 or 20. So just keep making chars and playing them until you get bored.

Personally, I've found Paladin is amazing fun for PvE. Hunter is pretty fun too.

What everybody else said, but with this addition - If you aren't having fun, and have tried all permutations of race/class, then perhaps WoW is not the game for you. There must be people out there for whom this MMO has little or no appeal, and maybe you're one.

And if you're new, please don't get into the habit of calling classes 'jobs'. I'll assume the person I quoted comes from FFXI, but every non-Square/Enix game uses the term 'class'.

I'd say a mage is the most fun to play, but the same characters tends to get a little boring after a certain amount of time. So, I think its best to mix it up between a mage, hunter and warlock

Gnome Engineer. Doesn't really matter what class....maybe mage, maybe rogue, maybe warrior....whatever. Just make Engineering a profession. Engineers are SO much fun to play. Some highlights:

Exploding Sheep
Rocket Boots
Battle Chickens
Harvest Robots
Mechanical Squirrels

All these things and many more can be built by enginers and make the game 100 time smore hilarious.

True, but why would the Amish be browsing Allakhazam?
