Alliance at low lvl places!Follow

#1 Nov 22 2006 at 11:01 PM Rating: Decent
HI. I have a lvl 25 hunter, and im questing in the barens. The only thing i cant understand is why those good dammed alliances cant stay out of horde teritorium. Almost every time i go outside a city, i get killed by a lvl?? night elf or human. Man thats enoyjing. Anyone else have this problem?

Ok what you do is when you go outside the city make sure your not flagged for PvP. It's that simple even if your on a PvP server they wont be ablt to attack you.

Yep, and stop going on as if "only the alliance do it", horde are never out of elwyn, westfall or redridge. The only place is ashenvale(probably the spend all the time camping astranaar). So please get of your soapbox.

Quit attacking alliance or buffing people who are flagged for pvp and you will have no troubles in horde teritory. If you have ever typed /pvp you might wanna un-permaflag yourself.

On a side note, since you are here QQing about being ganked this early on, if you are on a PVP server you might wanna go ahead and reroll to PVE now while you're only level 25.

LOL Just remember Karma baby for instance I am a noob to this game I have played 6 days. A few hours a day and im lvl 16. So im out in the barrens questing when I get killed by a Few aggroed mobs. Then when I rez back there is a lvl 60 mage just guarding the graveyard. He killed me 4 times b4 a nice lvl 60 hunter came by and responded to my call for help. The hunter killed the mage and I /spit on his body to return the favor =D

For me I don't like the feel been ganked by lvl?? Ally character too, just

wondering what the fun bit killing the low level?(that unable to fight back?),

the server where I'm staying were PvP server everytime I go to cross road there

always came bunch of ally character to wipe us out......, also that remind me

something that came up to me that dirty alliance player did, last time

when I running around in horde territory I saw a gnome mage that are only 1-2

level lower than me when I try to kill him the lvl?? (already stealth so I

didn't notice he was stay around that mage) elf rogue just came to kill me =_=

Its PVP, it happens to both sides. Almost given up playing my druid on Ravenholt because of the constant graveyard camping/ganking by horde makes any simple task that would only take me 10/15 mins on PVE and turns it into a 1 or 2 hour res and corpse run fest. Do i blame the horde? sometimes, but i realise that BOTH sides do it and i consider anybody who gets off on ganking lower lvl players dirtbags. But its not gonna change so i just deal with it - going to get my druid a paid transfer.

Why are people saying they are being attacked and ganked in the barrens?

/mindboggle

Are you talking about the Alliance Outrunner NPCs? I remember getting killed by them many times as a low lvl in the Barrens. There are 3 of them, they're mounted, and they attack without provocation regardless of PvP status. God they were a pain...

im an allie, i gank therefore i dont mind being ganked at all, they wanna gank me? more power 2 em. but i will be returning the favor by camping hillbrad for awhile and taking down groups of levels 20s. its all apart of pvp servers so if you dont like it switch to pve.

My general policy is to leave people alone unless they attack. But when I see a lowbie flagged for PvP in a protected zone, I figure they have been misbehaving towards my faction and liquidate them post haste. I used to do that to horde in the Barrens and I do it to Alliance now in Darkshore or Elwyn Forest.

Oh yes.
I think Alliance gets more and more daring.
They keep farming us everywhere even if we don't bring them honor... i hate em.

Simple answer it is part of the game. Deal with it.

Sure it's a part of the game, thing is you'd think people have something better to do with their live's than gank lowbies who give them no HK for like hours... I mean, it's pretty sad when you think about it, even if you DO suck and cannot take your vendetta to Bg's because you get you *** kicked there, it's still pretty sad.

I do think barrens, as well as durotar, is a Horde controlled zone in which alliance cannot attack you unless you are flagged or attack first, if I'm wrong then the lvl ?? dwarf paladin i was running around with my alt making rude gestures at while questing in Ratchet must've been like really dumb or a very nice person xD
Playing in a somewhat new PvP server I haven't had much troubles with ganking, just beat off some suckers in Arathi Highlands who should get some skills, and was once ganked by 2 lame hunters who caught me resting after some hard mob grinding.
Oh, and once a lvl ?? rogue tried to attack me in Hillsbrad, had to sacc my voidwalker but my second fear managed to hit and sent her running a fair distance getting to Tarren Mill no problem, where the guards scared the unstealthed dumbass off the hard way ^_^

Hey just look at it this way...they're helping you get prepared for running quests in Stranglethorn Vale. Trust, me..you ain't seen nothin' yet ;) But seriously...welcome to the world of MMO pvp servers. Grief killing is a favorite sport for a certain sect of people that play these games. Some people get much satisfaction out of ruining other people's playing time. While I will kill every single ally I come across, I don't camp lowbie areas looking for newbs to slaughter.

Either way...you have to expect things like this to happen on a pvp server. I played Meridian 59 (one of the first mmo's), and even that game with its small population had plenty of griefers. In that game if you get PK'd, all of your loot drops and anyone can grab it. At least in WoW, you're only looking at a corpse run. Plus they can't really **** talk to the other side in this game, which I think was a very good decision on Blizz's part for obvious reasons. When deciding what kind of server I wanted to join, pvp was the obvious choice. Building is more exiting because of your chances of being PK'd, and the game feels more immersive since you can actually feel the tension between both sides.

heh, there has been an explosion of ganking on my server "Darkspear" so all you sissys might want to stay away. Also if you ARE on Darkspear do NOT kill the alliance they are sissys and always have level 60's hiding nearby...I'm level 55 and I get killed for ganking 50% of the time...do i care? NO! What do I do? Gank more! one time i corpse camped Thelsamar until a group of 5 60's chased me out. /cry

Too bad there's no 'level appropriate' PvP server. 60s ganking 20s in contested is lame. It would be nice if it gave negative honor instead of none.

The problem with that, is that what do you do when some lowbie attacks you, and you don't wanna one or two shot them and get the neg. honor. That would be annoying as hell. I'd have to pimpslap them with a cluebat to back them up.
#23 Dec 04 2006 at 11:51 AM Rating: Decent

The obvious solution to that would be for the honor rating penalty to ocurr only if you the high-level player attacks first. Kind of like world-pvp in friendly areas, you as a lowbie would have to attack the lvl ?? first, before he could kill you with no honor rating penalty. Attacking the lvl ?? would kind of "flag" the lowbie to be safely killed for a couple of minutes, so the lowbie could not be repeatedly ganked when he realizes the error in his stupid ways.

Problem with this would be in big attacks to cities and such where lowbies could unwittingly get in the way of any AOE's and get themselves killed which would be kind of bothersome :S
