Haha, no it doesn't mean that at all.

That just refers to the theme of the race, even hunters have a touch of the wild magic.

For instance, we won't find any BE warriors, Druids or shamans; Warriors because they use no magic at all, and druids and shamans because they derive their power from a pact with nature. An entity that seems to make BEs nervous.

but will they be more efficent magic users or hunters?
#4REDACTED, Posted: Oct 25 2006 at 7:45 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) ROUGES?????????? HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM?????????????????

Hmmm...

Stealth: The ability to conceal oneself from other's sight without staying under the cover of darkness or covering with a blanket while hugging the wall.

Sounds like magic to me.

And while we are at the topic of Mysticism, gagnsta, how do you think a Rogue can use the skill Distraction without having some small bombs in his/her bag?
#6 Oct 25 2006 at 9:15 PM Rating: Decent
The "Minor mysticism" thing for the Rogues was added after Blizzard decided that there will be no BE warriors but only BE paladins, so that people would play BE paladins in the Horde to balance the classes in the two factions, this is the real reason.

So you were reading the informations on the Create Character screens since the beginning of the game? Or is that just your thoughts?

Soulreign, perhaps you should try and read the manuel you got when you brought the game. Perhaps my manuel is saying something else but here it goes:

"The rogue is one of the most lethal character classes in the game, able to deal out immense damage in short periode of time. The most effective rogues sneak through the shadows without detection, and then strike enemies from behind with a flurry of assassination attacks. Yet, for all their fast-hitting rogues are not very durable, relying on quickness and stealth for protection instead of armor and high health."

Now if you are looking upon the talent tree an rogue has, both the one that is in use right now and the upcomeing BC, you will notice the name of every single talent they have, there is no magic named in there names. In terms of role playing, when you choice your talents its because you have made your rogue been good to that talent, depending on much time he used to master that talent (like 3/3 on imp gouge or other talents). As the name "talent tree" says, every person has there own talents.

Okay, shall we try and see it from the logical point of view?? If you are trying to stealth somewhere, you will always use the enviroment so people got a harder time to find you. Just try and look soldiers etc.

Distraction?? simple enough, take some dirt, small rocks or anything and throw it way. Then people will turn there attention to the sound that came from nowhere.

The only way i might some sort of "magic" an rogue has, is the racial skills, a race has and stil that is not enough. It just gives you an idea how that race is.

So Soulreign, this is an NOT critisme to you. Im just trying lay thinks out for you. Now i dont wanna go further this for now.

Edit: spelling fixed (Otherwise correct me)

They're not getting rid of Warriors, just Blood Elves don't get a Warrior class.

Blood Elves get the Warrior class... They just aren't playable.

Let me rephrase that. Why does blizz want to get rid of blood elf warriors.
#15 Oct 30 2006 at 1:07 PM Rating: Decent
Because, Blood Elfs will easily drop their weapons to use some magic. Paladins use holy magic, warriors hit things. If I was a blood elf I would gladly become a Blood Knight.

We are getting Pallys instead of Warriors because :1)Having Pallys in instances will be good with they're aruas.2) Pallys can heal and do a not to bad job tanking.3)The horde already has 4 other races with pretty good warrior stats(i.e. Orc and Tauren) does the Alliance? No the best they have(for warrior stats) is Dwarves(Str:22,Sta:23)(Orc Str:23,Sta:22 , Tauren Str:25,Sta:22).

In conclusion "gagnsta" , if you don't LIKE the fact that BE get Pallys not Wars...

Well JUST DEAL WITH IT!

Starting stats don't matter. They could have scraped rogues but they just want people to play horde pallys and betray the spirt of the horde.

Ok, now you're going on an entirely different paragon on what YOU think the horde should be. Go play Everquest 2.

It took me almost one whole day to decipher that. I wasted a whole day of my life.

Put simply: Blood Elves get the "paladin" class for the sake of balance, These aren't real Paladins, These are Blood Knights using [stolen power?] to further their own needs. They don't get warriors because of the same reason tauren don't get rogues. It just doesn't work. The whole reason they aren't part of the Alliance has to do with a craving for magic, dark magic at that. Something warriors don't have. (Yet they can beat the living crap out of something just the same, more in a physical sense though.)

Also on the original topic, hunters ARE magic users...they have health and mana, just like a mage, priest etc, the only class that doesn't fit with the base theme is rogue...but what kind of elven race would go without rogues...the only thing that would be stranger is if they didn't have archers.

I dunno, I kind of side on the "rogues use something sorta like magic" when I can have my rogue stand right in front of a mob and rob him blind while stealthed and then sap him. Maybe it's something like the Jedi Mind Trick, "These are not the beers you are looking for."

But magic-hungry Belfs just would NOT go for being warriors at all. Belf warriors would be the "special" children.
#24 Nov 02 2006 at 6:34 PM Rating: Decent
I was really looking foward on making a BE warrior. very dissapointed to see that that is impossible, although understandable. My personal opinion is that after playing WC3: TFT the blood elves really are not only magic-only users, but are completely useless without magic.
#25 Nov 11 2006 at 11:09 AM Rating: Decent
BEs can be Paladins, Hunters, Rogues, Priests, Mages, and Warlocks. BE Mages are going to kick A**! The rogues and Hunters look cool also :)
#26 Nov 11 2006 at 1:03 PM Rating: Decent
A race is that arrogant and egocentic like the Blood Elves would chose to be a warrior instead of a sneaky prick rogue thaqts for sure.
Rogues dont sue magic, they use tricks and gadgets and such, they use energy nothing more.
To put it simply, Blizzard had to choose between Rogues or warriors. (they said they had to choose between huntersa and warriors but those are just lies)
Mages and Warlocks are self explaining to the race.
Hunters are also self explaining, their main force were Archers, even Sylvanas was a Ranger with bows...
Paladins are put in to take away the uniqueness of the factions, and to ruin everyone game.
Priest goes ebcause of magic duh.
So choosing between rogues and Warriors were decided up on the facts, that are:
1. Elves in Plate are not enough Legolas looking.
2. Slender elves look pretty while walking in Stealth.
3. Warriors suck, Blizzard simply hates them, as much as the druids, maybe more.
4. They know that the stupid people who look for teh EZ leveling would rather roll a rogue instead of the warrior.
5. Horde has more of a Warrior-ish feel then a Rogue-ish, so Blizzard thought why not get rid of that, since the only feel Alliance side gives off is "Ohh holy legolas on steroids".
6. Current rogues on Horde side are either: rotten, has too much muscles or has a weird body structer. This isnt pretty enough to attract the 10yr old kidz who could ask mommy and daddy to buy the game, or a new gamecard.

^Truth!
