I love my big honkin' Mac which I bought for video editing but have installed WoW on. Its beautiful on the big cinema display screen (though it only displays on one. wouldn't it be awesome to have near wrapaaround view? but that's for another thread) and my klipsch digital surround sound system.

I don't play much anymore on the beautiful machine because I like my WoWreader which only works on my laptop.

I guess you have grown tired of people asking, but I haven't seen the question in a while; whither WoW Reader for the Mac?

We will be releasing a web-based uploader soon.

It will work for users on Linux, OSX, Win32 or whatever who would rather not run the uploader.

I have wowreader updated, its running, it creates the Wr.lua , and even finds the profiles and lets me update (so yes it is running).

Problem is, it still wont update my character profile:

I have gotten a new weapon since yesterday that I wanted updated, but alas even though I've tried running it, restarting the machina and running again etc. its just not updating.

It shows as updated around 20 mins ago to me. Are you still seeing an old version?

Shows as updated the 29th march for me.

Only its not, and its not only my gear, but seems certain skills that have gone up arent either.

I opened Wr.lua in notepad, and it seems to be right, as in I notice my dagger skills wich has gone up, is right there, alas not in the profile.

[13] = "Daggers^115^300",
(I am guessing this is pertaining to daggerskill)

Shows as 52 in profile, this is just an example.

Heres the real weird thing, I am able to update alts :-O

Only one of my characters quest logs is correct, others have either nothing in them or show my mains quest log. I tried uploading last night, it seemed to work, i made a new toon and it shows it, but its quest log is empty too. I tried to upload again this morning and same problem, the quest log remained empty. The only quest-like Add-on I am running is CTMoD Quest levels.

It seems that your server has been renamed to "The Venture co", from "The Venture Co." (There was a dot specifying the abbreviation). As a result, we couldn't find your profile when uploading to update - and made a new one located here:

http://wow.allakhazam.com/profile.html?1089703

I'll see what we can do about this.

ok i just have a quick, rather newbish question.
how do i get my character to display in my signature on the forums? Like elflorn has on this page.
thanks in advance!

Aye, this was because the . was causing problems when it came to storing saved variables for characters on that server. We had problems from 1.9 and till they patched to 1.10 with it. It was quite frustrating ;-), even guild messages wouldnt save correctly.

Ok glad you found out the problem and responded about it. Will tell friends on the server about it.

A beta version of a manual upload page for profiles is now available. If you're on a mac or for some other reason can't use WowReader, you can give it a try here: Manual Profile Upload. It should work fine, but it hasn't been extensively tested yet, so please let us know if you run into any problems.

With respect to the Manual Upload Beta, am I correct in understanding that, when properly expanded, the following files should be in the World of Warcraft\Interface directory (for the Mac):

Wr.lua
Wr.nopatch
Wr.toc
Wr.xml

I have tried both ways; these files directly in the interface directory and these files in a subdirectory of the interface directory named wr. I still do not find the wr.lua in the /Applications/World of Warcraft/WTF/Account/<Your Account Name>/SavedVariables/ directory after logging in and out several times. Nor did I find the wr.lua file in any of the subfolders such as Kirin tor/sral.

Am I missing something> is the wr.lua file in the Interface directory the one I should be uploading?

Thanks,

they need to be in Interface\AddOns\Wr (Like any other Addon, in their own Directory)

I did this (duh, makes total sense) and when I start my character up I get:

Interface \AddOns\wr\Wr.lua:17:attempt to perform arithmetic on global `S' (a nil value)

then the game plays normally. Upon upload and subsequent check of character on the Website, I see no changes.
