Think I'm screwed? ...Follow

#1 Nov 22 2004 at 12:33 PM Rating: Decent
WELL, tomorrow WoW comes out, yay! *clap clap*
Problem is, I didn't preorder (Oh F@#$)
Can anybody tell me how popular this game is? Think I can get a copy tomorrow (Tuesday) of the plain old retail version? Don't want to dish out an extra 30 bucks for some special edition pet...

Am I screwed!? :O

You'll be fine, I doubt all the stores in the area will be sold out. You might have a problem getting the CE if you didn't PO.

500,000 beta sign ups in 6 hours. Absolutely smashed, and I mean SMASHED, any MMO beta record to date. We're not even talking about the hundreds of thousands that didn't even get into OB either. I think it's safe to say that it's going to be "popular".

Yeah I have to agree. I use to preorder games but don't anymore because there is always a way find them. Unless you live in a rural town or something. I'll be hitting Bestbuy, Circuit City and Wal-mart. Game stores will be sold out in all likelyhood and they usually focus on preordering in their first wave of shipments.

If you live where I do, you have 4 chances and if you get into a bad swing-miss type of dance, as is apt to happen from time to time, then you're screwed. Hope you're in a larger area. =)

I live next to Philadelphia, 1 hr from trenton, newark, alanatic city, and 2 hrs from Baltimore and NYC

I will have that game by tommorrow, or there will be mass murder.

I live in a decent size town outside of Baltimore, so I hope I can get a copy. If not I'll go play Halo 2, but I realllly want to start another rogue...That and I don't want the CE. I will go insane if I don't get this game soon >:|

And Diamond, if you can't find a game in Phili, don't come out here. They're mine!!! ...jk :p

Sweet Rayna, I'm about an hour from you. Pretty close to Newark.
Post if you can't get a copy, I'll be searching all of north Jersey >:)

One could say they only had this amount because it was free and once it costs money there will be less people.

Personally, I think it will do quite well.

Didn't preorder either but if I don't get my wow then there will be a hostage situation at my local best buy. The way I see it the games stores know how hot wow will be and how much phat lewts they will make off of the sales so they ordered as many copies as they could. I also know for a fact that they get daily shipments meaning if it's not there tuesday they wil be getting more in wednesday.
As far as the 500,000 open beta I don't see all those buying wow right off many will have to wait till xmas and some till payday. Some signed up to try it out not indtending on actually buying. So in the end I think it will be less of a mad rush that open beta was. At least I hope.

There should be enough copies unless you happen to live in a one Starbuck's town. They've printed up enough first-run copies of the game that if they sell out, it'll be the most popular MMO in NA history, so I think you're safe finding one at launch.

Only problem I have found with Wal-Mart is they don't normally in my area (central ohio) get new released software on the big release date. Same thing with best buy, they get it (hopefully) Thursday after the release date, that is when they stock the shelves. I wish all of you GL on getting it tomorrow. I was smart on this game and preordered it from EBworld. I'll be there at the store bright and early to snag my copy that they are holding for me while others buy out the other copies.

"Just check your local wal-marts. Most people have 4 in their area. "

Unless you have one walmart super center like me, they get the newest games 2 to 3 days later. After work tomorrow I have to drive 28 miles one way for WOW and I know its well worth it.

seems like getting a normal copy will be pretty easy, plenty online and off. Collectors edition has completely sold out by pre orders, or so says gamestop. Anyone have any numbers on how many CE editions were in the first send off, gonna be a huge number of people playing.)
