I know that Fry's Electronics (one at least) is opening up at Midnight to sell the game tonight, but when will the servers be actually up to play on?

No one knows, except possibly blizzard, who is not saying.
The 23rd is all that they say. I would say staying up all night long hoping would be a bad idea.
Especially if you got the drop on all of us! Stay home, sleep, buy it in the morning. =)

Blizzard likes to start things after lunch their time.Maybe they will actually get going earlier but if past history(from beta)is any indication I'm gonna guess..1 pm PST 2pm MST 3pm CST 4pm EST.

Im pretty sure they will have the servers up before the 23rd. Im thinking midevening tonight. Maybe around eight or nine.

They're going to be signing copies of the game at some store during a midnight release. And I also read somewhere that demonstrations of the game will be happening at that release.
The demos will probably need the servers to be up in order to play. Either that, or they've set up a special server just for that demo (which is possible, but not likely).
So I'm betting on a midnight PST time for the servers being active.

The signing kind of makes me think it will be at least by midnight. It would be really 2 faced and cruel to sign someone copy, tell them to go have fun then sleep in till noon walk to work and actually get the servers online so they could play sometime that night.
It'll be midnight. You'll see. And Midnight on the west coast I'm wagering, seeing that they are stationed out in Cali.

Isn't there a server per timezone? Isn't the gametime the same as real life time for that server? Wouldn't it make sense to startup each server at midnight in their respective timezones so that each world's birth is at 0:00 11/23/04? Hasn't this thread already ben started?
