Duo questionFollow

Hi there, another convert here :). Anyway, I was wondering if it mattered what race and job combo me and my GF were if we planned on duoing together? I read things that make me think there are 2 sides that dont get along--for example someone posted about seeing a NE they have to kill. Why is that? Another posted about dwarves..

so, i'm curious if there were any limitations (say on a pvp server) I should know about?

thanks!

If you want to play together, you'd have to both be on the same faction. Either alliance or horde. Also, if you made different races, one of you would have to walk to the other's start area, or meet up later. Although, Orcs and Trolls have the same start area, and I think Dwarves and Gnomes have the same start area.

Orc, Troll, Tauren, or Undead are Horde.

Night Elf, Dwarf, Gnome, or Human are Alliance.

I feel obligated to warn you that NE town is far from the other alliance towns and the undead town is far from the horde towns (diffrent continents) so if one of you wants to be NE or Undead u will both probubly need to be the same.

The entire premise of the game is that there is the Horde and the Alliance. Each side is made up of 4 races. The Horde is made up of the Orcs, Trolls, Taurens and Undead...and the Alliance is made up of the Humans, Dwarves, Night Elves and Gnomes.

Playing races from the same side will be no problem at all...but if you each chose a race from the other side...(for example you a human from the alliance and she a Tauren from the Horde) it would be very difficult if not impossible to play together.

So, you will both want to be on the same side of the over all conflict.

Now, as for which classes duo best...I cannot answer for the high levels...but in the MMORPG world you can never go wrong with a damage/tank grouped with some sort of healer.

I play with my girlfried too. In open beta we tried a bunch of different duos and at least in early-mid game pretty much anything goes, and I must say the game is great for duo couples, much more fun for my girlfriend and I to get on and adventure for a bit in WoW than FF ever was.

Anyway originally we were thinking NE, hunter + druid duo worked great. We then tried Taruen for a change of pace, war + shamen owned. Then we tried Human Paladin + Warlock, that owned too. Then two undead mages... well you get the point. I liked all the options so much I really can't decide now ><

The game seems really flexible due to the lack of downtime and diversity of play styles and such. Just pick whatever seems most interesting and fun to each of you and don't worry so much about being complementary jobs.

I have found that just about any two classes can duo. It is pretty amazing though.

Frankly I would duo with any class and a Mage/Druid. Being able to CC helps ALOT in some situations...besides, it is fun to polymorph things into sheep ;-)

My friend and i both played orc rogues, we did pretty much every quest together and we didnt have many problems. We got good at splitting damage and attacking like targets things like that, we even did the ragefire chasm wich is a 16th level elite instance, and we were 19 and 17 at the time. (assassinating the quest npc's > P) I guess my point is, as has been mentioned, ANY two classes can duo and i imagine it would be awesome. And if you pick the same starting races, you will be able to do the newby quests together, wich will help you do them faster. Two heads are always better than one.
