In EQ could make a macro using %T to insert in INC. macro to indicate name of target. Didn't find much on Blizzard or Allakh. site to help with this - or macros in general. Please give help how to use the /m function to best effect for better Party experience. TY

the %t is also target in Wow ;)

Go figure ;)

If you are used to the controls and stuff in EQ, WoW is very similar.

Estimated guess that you plan to be a hunter :D

The hunters have a nice little spell called "Mark of the Hunter". It's a simple yet handy little spell that marks the target you want with a bouncing red arrow. Makes everything so much more simplier. Just wanted to let ya know :)

Yes - I do plan to be Hunter - but then - there are other types.
BTW - Paladin could be puller using the six second can't be hit spell - and keep running if gets too many ))))

Macros are actually very easy in WoW.

Type /macro and it pulls up a macro tool. First you type in the name of the macro and select a graphic for it.

Then there is a box on the bottom where you can type in various commands. I had one for incoming.
/g Incoming %T
/v inc

This would say the incoming in group chat and my character would verbally say incoming as well.

Can do this with just about anything including spells, can only cast 1 spell per macro though.

LOL not going to be anytime soon with the way bizzerd is handing the non eng speaking contries...

even ppl in eng speaking contries will have hard time trying to get in to wow if they don't have canada/usa billing adress

Also note that blizzard has put in some nifty shortcuts for macro, like the fact that if you shift-click a spell in your spellbook with the macro window open, it will put that spell into your macro wherever the cursor is currently.
/p, /gu, /yell, /w %T all work, and to use an ability do /cast ability. To put the attack command in there, you use /cast attack (or something like that, i just shiftclick the attack ability).

Also note that there's apparently a scripting language for this, as i've seen people use things like:

Self Heal
/target self
/cast healing 1
/targetlastenemy()

which apparently allows you to self heal without interrupting a nukefest. the /assist command works, (and i wish more people used it...).

I don't know how macroable tradeskills are.

Hope all that good info is in book that comes with Disk. Just trying to get the headsup so I can play better - sooner. The game is too good to read at same time - too little down time >sarcasm<

Also asking questions for which I know half the answers for the poor people who didn't get to play the OB.

Have fun all - less than two days to go ))
