Just found out that I'll actually be home after work at 5 to be able to log into WoW. Originally thought it was going to be more like midnight and wouldn't be playing until wednesday.

Girlfriend said she wanted to go to the gym tuesday night, I said okay I can stay home that night.

My guess is the registration servers and the forums come up mid day Monday, and the game goes live a few hours before midnight EST.

The servers will go live sometime on the 22nd according to what I was told, so that they are ready when the first couple of people return home with a copy...

Would be kinda dissapointing comming home, ripping up package, and then find out that the servers are down, I think I would get a "minor" fit of rage :))) Just a "minor" one, NOT ! So I am pretty sure that the servers are ready when you return with your copy...

So you guys saying "12am tuesday" seem to be in the majority hehe

So when you say 12:am tuesday, is that EST or PST?

I wonder if they will bring up the EST servers at 12:am EST and then the Central/mountain and PST servers at their 12:am timeslots.

Lol i guess i will just start clicking at 7pm EST until something happens :)

Blizzard is a PST company. If anything, I would assume they would go by that.

I won’t be able to even purchase my copies until 10:00am central. So whatever you do, don’t pick any of the character names I want to use on whatever server I end up playing on! *grins*

Isn't there a server per timezone? Isn't the gametime the same as real life time for that server? Wouldn't it make sense to startup each server at midnight in their respective timezones so that each world's birth is at 0:00 11/23/04?

I have a feeling the East Coast servers would be hardcore flooded if that was the case.

I'd be surprised if the servers go online at 12PST, considering all the Devs will be at the signing.

Wait, do the devs actually run and monitor the servers? Or, do they actually hire people to to that that aren't game developers (and wouldn't need to go to a signing)?

If i was a dev I would definately not want to actually have to maintain servers.... I've spent the last 2 years designing billboards and I'd be pissed of they tried to make me go hang them myself... =\
