A penalty would not incur a purpose, it would only make it so that less and less people enter pvp situations.

And i swear if someone brings up item looting....wham! to the moon!

permadeath? u freaking nuts just for having that cross your mind...
#29 Nov 21 2004 at 1:48 PM Rating: Decent
yeah ... as i stated before ... item looting=not good
permadeath=not good (could be fun tho)

how can it be made so u will be afraid to die ... and not loose that much ... thats the big question

loose honor when u die is stupid ... summ zero has too many exploits

so what else? the head ... lol

And there needs to be a harsher penalty...why...
#32 Nov 21 2004 at 2:02 PM Rating: Decent
there is no penalty now ... what do u mean by harsher?
noone is afraid to die really ... they blink two wimes, curse a little bit if at all ... and go get their bodies
low lvl noobs are free to go to oposing faction land ... only by the cost of few dies and some running around ... thats why

Ashh, the penalty is dishonour. Read up on the honour system on the official site, sheesh.

10% durability lost to all items (including those in your bag) sometimes reaching 10 silver per death...5 minute ghost run...Just dying in general...25% durability hit when reviving at the spirit healer to all items...

*cough* Right, I don't fear death...

for one, being taken out of battle for 2-5 minutes is a penalty.

secondly, You cannot attack other people in oppossing lands without them attacking you. That means that if a low level noob did go there, they would only be met by being attacked untill he went back home.

Actually red, there is no longer a dura penalty for PvP deaths, being done so because it simply was just too expensive to the point youd have to farm on a 5:1 basis.

i dont fear death ... it costs nothing to me ...
durability loss ... the items in the bag remain untouched in my experience... i have fully ok equipment when i arrive

honor loss is not good ... this means sum zero system ... i ll convince some frends to make oposing memeber players and they give their honor to me (exploit)

i think we r getting nowhere like that ... most of u r trying to convince me that u fear death in wow and thats not true

honestly when i was solo raiding the alliance grounds and killed many (not saying where and when) i did not feel they were really afraid ... they kept comming back trying and failing to kill me ... again and again ... this mean they are not afraid
sometimes they called their friends ... and when i got killed ... big deal ... i res-ed and relocated

Try raiding places where the graveyard is oh so very far away from where your raid group is (like 5-10 minute run, damn you Ashenvale).

Also, consider that they can lead you straight into Guards. Guards are NPCs so they will give you a nice big durability hit on your items.

I'm sure that you can convince some friends to join the Horde, level up to your level and let them kill you. You know, cause your friends just love bending over like that and getting reamed. Even if that's the case, you can't even communicate with each other in-game.

And who the hell wants to put work into a character just for him to get beaten up?

It is impossible to farm honor because if these were friends of yours, youd never be able to talk or play with them except for farming them, and you both would have to level up at the same pace, and honor is gained much more by those who actually fight.

You are unable to change equipment during fights..so your pretty much out of luck with not losing durability for dieing, in which you will soon go broke from repairing if you "dont fear dieing" as much as you say.

Forgot about that :D Thanks for the reminder!

Seriously, though, Ashh, if you are looking for a "hardcore" penalty in WoW, you're not going to find it other then the dishonor system. This is not Diablo 2 on hardcore mode nor will it ever be. Just keep that in mind...

and most of all ... i didnt feel nothing ... i am pretty sure i ll get bored after 2 months of solo raiding ... and get back to farming lol

as for massive battles ... it will be very very cool to particapate in such ... but unfortunately there will not be enough of those to keep me from going back to farming

and why would i need lots of friends ... i just will go to some other server ... convice some local ... and farm eachother in the diferent servers ... dont u think it would a fair deal ...
since u can gain honor from killing again and again the same person ? ... if there is a restriction from whom u gain honor and whom u dont ... which would sound like this ... u cant get honor from the same person twice ... the result will be ... this same person comming back ... again and again to take back his honor ... so ... ?

Massive battles happen quite frequently if you know where to go and who to fight. It helps being in a good guild.

Well, as said, play something else because I truely do not think Blizzard will go out of its way to make the game more "hardcore" then it is. All I can say is wait for Battlefields or play something else. *shrugs*

And how are you going to convince just anyone to be your honor lap dog? really its sad when you cant even gain honor on your own. Besides, by the way you say all these *solo* raids, sounds like your the kind of person who likes to rake in the dishonor.

You gain honor by killing someone within your level (greens to reds)

You lose honor by killing players way lower then you are level wise (the greys)

It is difficult to "farm" honor because of the ressurection timer. In order for honor to work in your favor, you must kill multiple targets in a short time. Keep in mind that a group of greens can kill you.

The more dishonor you lose, the more outlaw you become. You will not be able to enter some towns, guards will attack you on sight and other players can target you, even those of your faction (according to how Blizzard explained it awhile back)

So there is your penalty system in place, along with the ressurection timer. If you do not like the way it is going, I'd advise you to try a more different game, like Lineage 2, where you can loot other's corpse or stick with Diablo 2, where the hardcore mode has perma death.

i will offer him to make my char in his server which he will leak honor from ... is it that hard?
and i am not saying i will be doing that ... i am saying that people will be doing it ...

as for the dishonest manner ... yeah ... i am an "honest" rogue lol ... i like my victums confused and dead (horde style)

huh? your not mentioning the fact that no ones going to waste time to level up a character just to sit at a graveyard and get killed by you.
#49 Nov 21 2004 at 2:34 PM Rating: Decent
... i am saying that i ll be doing the same for him ...
so we both will have a perfect way to be honest in out server of preference ... dont u get it???

and again ... i am not saying i ll be doing it ... i am saying people WILL be doing it ... believe me

*kills dumbass* Honorable kill!

*waits 5 mins*

*kills dumbass* Honorable kill!

*waits 5 minutes*

*kills dumbass* Honorable kill!

...

Yep, I can see how this can be abused as opposed to a person killing multiple targets within that 5 mins...

Its going to be vary rare that your going to run into just anyone on a website who trusts you enough, plays on your server, and likes breaking the rules as much.
