Im sure we've all thought about hero classes, so which classes you think will be what? I had an orc rogue in OB, and plan to stay the same, in hopes that ill be able to become a blademaster someday > ) What are your aspiring hero classes and what class you think the prerequisite will be?

Not sure about titles, but I have a strong thought on what heros will bring to the table as far as abilities!!!

All you have to do is look at the Warcraft 3 heroes. I think Heroes will have a selection of abilities they can take at different ranks much like the current talent system. I think a number of those options will be to get auras(much like a Paladins) that will positively effect ANY allies within a certain radius and/or auras that will negatively effect all enemies within a given radius.

Obviously a certain number of PvP points will be needed as part of the requirements to be a hero. What the other requirements will be we can only guess(which is part of the point of this thread. hehe).

Sorry to burst your bubble, but Auras are already in game and Paladins already have them...

Maybe I missed something as I was only in ST2 and OB but there are no PvP points. I dont think it will be an epic quest either. Probably just follow the natural progression and you become whatever hero your class is supposed to become after completing lvl 60.

When is info going to be out about the hero classes? I would like to plan out what class i will be, if i like the hero classes available to that class and race.
#7 Nov 20 2004 at 9:36 PM Rating: Decent
they are keeping as much info as possible about the hero classes secret, truth be told i think they dont have much of it finalised, i mean they have about 3 to 6 months to work on it more and im very sure the hero classes will not be in the game at release.

as far as classes i hope to see..
and i think the hero classes are based on race and class, not just your class.
troll beserker, dual axes and abillity to use the troll beserking ability much more often, like 50% or under health or even 70%

Lich undead mage hero class that is just a uber mage and mabey some pet skills for raiseing zombies and skellys

blade master the traditional warcraft 3 orc hero, really strong tank comeing from the orcish warrior class

voodoo witch doctor troll shaman hero class, with alot of fear and mind effecting spells, plus alot more powerfull totems and wards ^^

dwarven treasure hunter a rogue class for dwarves that has a far bigger range for the "tresure finding" racial skill, and improved lockpicking skills

night elf demon hunter they should have a class based "head gear" that is a blindfold to cover up the fact the demon hunters gouge out their own eyes, the blindfold gets stronger over time or levels. plus a whole bunch of bonus abilities for killing demons. the base class would be night elf hunter of course

anyone else got any suggestions?

PvP points? Does that mean players on PvE or RP servers will not be eligible for Hero classes? Doesn't seem right to me.
#9 Nov 20 2004 at 9:43 PM Rating: Decent
the pvp points i bet are either a rumor or just for pvp, otherwise it would be rather.. stupid.

I wonder what kind of variety that hero classes will have, there really werent that many options in the actual warcraft games so they will probably need to make up some. Im hoping that each class/race combo gets a unique one and maybe there should be a few generic ones for each class. So that if you are a human mage you can be an archmage or a Evoker, any mage can become an evoker but only humans can be an archmage. I just hope they give some good options so that hero classes dont become just like regular classes or become like a "class tree" like L2 had.

They could also make 3 hero classes per normal class to corespond to the 3 talent trees but that sounds kinda boring.

acutaly i dont think they are that hard pressed for ideas, for instance the Warcraft roleplaying game based around the D20 D&D rules, has a great deal of classes and more importianly prestiege classes for developeing your charicter. i can imagen alot of those would be pt into WoW

Well most of the hero abilities in WC3 are already possesed by some classes. Like a blademaster, at first since he's melee and does good damage, he looks a fighter. But his skills are based on agility, good damage and attack speed and starts out with only 100 more HP that a caster hero, and his skills are mostly rogueish, like windwalk (vanish but faster) critical strike, his mirror image ability wich is escaping in a way. I was gonna do warrior in the hopes of being BM, but after i read rogue i realized that was a blademaster. Something like a mountain king or pitt lord would be a fighter. Stuff like warden and demon hunter would be (relatively) strong melee caster types.

Dwarven/ Human Paladin = Crusader
Warlock would probably be like a Demon tamer or demon himself...lol
Druid = Dryad? at least for NE's
not to sure otherwise
Ill just wait and see what they come up with :)

Blackblood, that is the point of the Hero classes, after all. They are simply evolutions of the normal beginning classes, except with something extra. For example, a Mountain King is a dual-wielding warrior with a lot of stuns, true, but can a warrior quadruple in size? No.

As for PvP, you guys really need to read the articles the official site puts up, seriously. I'm disturbed to find out that there are people who are going to buy the game that don't know anything about the honour system.

Eej instead of whining about them not camping the website reading for hours, how about you tell em what you know. (forums are a place to exchange knowledge) And the honor system is sketchy atm because of serious issues with people of lower level being able to exploit it. And still requiring PVP points on a PVE/RP server would be, well stupid. It will probubly be WoW's form of raising the level cap but instead of just handing out 5-10 more levels to go out and earn... you get to work for a hero class. Just my thoughts =)

Or maybe you get to start back at level 1 as a hero and can get a hero class up to 60...They will probably just make hero classes the 'elite' version of regular characters, in other words. I hope. =)

I think a demon hunter is more of rogue or warrior class than the hunter class, even if they have the same name. Demon hunters are more melee, and have no pets for instance.

I haft to agree with ikerus, demon hunter DOES NOT seem like a "hunter" variation (no pets no bow heh), and i dont think they would make a unique hero class for each race/class combo cuz uhm thats alot. And the idea of a "opened slot" for hero characters is nice i rather enjoyed that when i got my jedi slot on SWG.
#20 Nov 21 2004 at 4:21 AM Rating: Default
yes.. demon hunter was more of a rogue then "hunter" class :D

demon hunter has, evade skill that make % of evade higer as you level it (rogue ish)

but

mana burn... this is prist skill

and the flame thing was cool...

i wonder if demon hunter is a war or rogue....

Well the point of it being a "hero" is to surpase its normal limitations? so maybe a shadowpriest/rogue? I want a Death Knight =)
#22 Nov 21 2004 at 4:32 AM Rating: Default
so where is this hero class idea from?

I don't think i ever read that on the wow site... but then again that place is full of holes. i hate going there for info...

now that beta is over it's sould be lag free but...

any how. so is the hero class for sure?

BTW you sould all go and read about the pvp intantions :D it seem fun :D more reason to kill ppl

Hopefully every class will give you several options to choose from for the hero class, or the hero class will be general enough you can mold it into what you want.
