Any info on release servers?Follow

#1 Nov 19 2004 at 3:59 PM Rating: Default
I was wondering if anyone knew anything about the names of the release servers and when they were going to be posted. I want to be able to coordinate what server my group of friends is going on, but there doesn't seem to be any information on what servers are going to be available.

Anyone know when/if this information will be posted? I really don't want to have to wait until the release to pick a server... It wouldn't be the end of the world, of course, but it would be nice.

(I'm also really hoping that they'll actually name them and not just call them "Server #1" through "Server #50" or something like they did in the beta test. I mean, there's no real point, but it'd be nicer to be playing on "Arthas" than playing on "Server #3". I mean, saying "I play on server #3" just has no style.)

Blizzard released something about not releasing the server names until release, presumably to ensure a rather even distribution of the players, at least at first.

I'd CnP the statement for you, but the bnet forums are gone.

Ah, I figured as much. Oh well - like I said, not the end of the world. Just means that we're all going to have to coordinate on release day instead of being prepared before the release.

Yeah, I'm kind of upset they just removed the forums, I tried to go look through them to find an answer there first. I wish they had just disabled new posting and not just up and removed the forums completely. Oh well.

At least it won't be like FFXI... Ugh, I'm still pissed at Square over that "random server assignment" bull.
