lol, i spent months looking at the races and classes available wondering what i was gunna be. i settled on a troll rogue or hunter, once i heard of the open beta. I join the beta and for some reason chage my mind and go warrior troll, then i decide to go tauren hunter.... lol, for the longest time i had told myself over and over that i was gunna be horde. lol, then i try dwarf paladin, i had the most fun with him, so it looks like ill be playing a character totally opposite of what i thought i would play. Anyone else do something like this?

Ever since I played EQ, DAoC, FFXI, WoW beta, whatever... I have always played everything. It took me 4 years to hit 65 in EQ =P I only had 52 in FFXI, and I don't really remember DAoC, but the fact is, I spend so much time playing everything that I never really level high in anything.

Maybe I will focus this time.

I doubt it though.

I can tell you from experimentation in the OB that I enjoy every class and every race (I haven't tried all combos, but the basic idea is the same). I'm going to start with Troll Hunter, but eventually I will have one of ever race and class, although more than likely not all race/class combos. I'll also do all crafts eventually too. I love this game! =)

Quax, the good news is that WoW will favor you more than the other games. Bonus exp from your characters "resting" while you platoon them will let you be getting double exp from creatures the whole way. (Until you earn 15% of level per entire day logged out, max 10 days.)

Also, this game is a little more friendly to be leveling multiple characters anyhow. There's no "I need to get a good group so I can sit and grind in velks all night and finish the third yellow to 57."

Oh yeah.

From the moment I saw Whizbang's writeup on WoW alpha, I knew I'd be playing Night Elves and ONLY Night Elves. When the first stress test started, I saw the signs and swore to never, EVER play a Hunter (which to me seems like the Druid class of EQ's release or Beastlord of today's EQ). Problem was, after playing a while in open beta, I saw some issues that kinda made me rethink that. Being isolated to Teldrassil when some of my RL friends are planning to play classes not available to Night Elves (Paladin and Warlock, for example) kinda swayed me. As the only Night Elf of the bunch, I'd have to level up alone on Teldrassil while they could all play together from day 1 (being mainly humans and dwarves). I learned from EQ that playing with friends makes even the worst game great and potentially can make the best game crap. So I rolled a Human Mage, being the class I could most identify with (Jazheira being my wizard in EQ) as a non-Night Elf. Now it seems I'll be playing a Human Mage come release day. I had intended to play a Night Elf rogue or druid.

To be clear, I don't have anything against the Hunter class. I've never even played it. My issue is with the seemingly overwhelming popularity of the class (for whatever reason) which I think will attract a certain kind of player that may give the class as a whole a bad rep. But this is only drawing from my experiences in EverQuest (with Druids in 99/2000, Iksar Monks (and Necros to a lesser extent) from 2000-2002, and Beastlords in 2002-present). So, at least for the time being, I'm going to avoid that class.

When I first started watching WoW, and finally decided that come release I would play it I started reading all the info.

I swore I was dead set on an Undead Rogue. Now as more time has passed I think I might actually go Orc Rogue. I also want to start up a Hunter at some point because I like the idea of the job, and how useful the pet is, just need to pick a race.
